Type 2 Life

I'll drink most of you under the table anyway that's how I will be laughing all night long but that would be telling

Good Morning, my lovely friends,

I went a bit crazy yesterday with my eating, and between 12 and 6 I devoured 2 Strawberry Cornetto ice creams (the ones from Iceland) that my mate Lee gave me as well as a whole bag of Bombay Mix, and then two large chip butties with steak cut oven chips in them, a big plate of steak cut and normal oven chips which were mixed together, and then between 6 and midnight, a can of rice pudding and then now in the early hours a tuna sandwich cut into 4 triangles and a bowl of chicken curry poured out in a pyrex dish. As a result my blood sugars are lingering somewhere between 8 and 9, sometimes between 9 and 10.

I don't understand what's giving me this voracious appetite. It's only yesterday and in the early hours today. I'm compliant with my 20 mcg of Lixisenatide and ADHD medication and depot injection for my psychotic depression and I don't know if my Asperger Syndrome autistic spectrum disability has anything to do with it. I'm going to wait until six when I take my Metformin and see if I can achieve that awesome 5.7 reading again. I know my Lixisenatide is supposed to make me feel fuller for longer and controls my eating as Nurse Maya said at the Diabetes Clinic. I'm hoping I'm not causing anything seriously wrong with me through this high blood sugar. I could be at risk of diabetic neuropathy, retinopathy, gangrene, heart disease or stroke.

Well you've done it before and I know it can be very tough, but I wonder if you can recruit your friends to say NO....even if you plead. Do you think you could get them to buy-in to supporting you this way?:)

You haven't met this wanderlust mackem. Try living in hotels all over England with no rent/morgage to pay. Just beer money. Parties, every night and clubbing weekends. Oh, them we're the days! Ha ha

Oh dear, Johnny, it's all gone a bit wrong, hasn't it?
In fact, the reason you had such an appetite was probably because of the things you were eating. When we eat sugar and carbs it makes us crave even MORE sugar and carbs, so the more we eat, the more we want. Can you see how it started with the Cornettos...? (And maybe the egg butties before that...)
Although the drugs we take can help us control our eating habits, we have to use some willpower too at times. Perhaps you could ask your good friend Lee and your other friends not to give you the sort of food which is bad for you? They could show their friendship by giving you things like fruit, cheese, meat or vegetables instead of food containing sugar or carbohydrates.
It's true that uncontrolled high blood sugar can cause other health complications over time, but don't worry and upset yourself about this today. Just concentrate on getting the food right and once you have that sorted, good health will follow.
Have a lovely day, Johnny, and good luck with the GOOD food!
Hugs x

Sorry to hear you're struggling @autisticwonder1970, I agree with @debrasue and think that all the carbs you've been eating are causing carb cravings. Before I was diagnosed diabetic crisps were my biggest vice! I loved anything savoury and the more I ate the more I wanted. I would definitely ask your friends to stop bringing you foods that are not good for you, I think they will understand if you explain that you're worried about complications. By the way, complications only happen when your blood sugar has been consistently high for a long time and yours certainly hasn't! Your blood sugar control has been very good which will protect you against complications. Look after yourself, hugs

No still waiting .
Hopefully he won't wait too long.
Is there a section on here for neurological problems? I haven't looked properly but @Tim55 has more experience than me. I feared damage when i had scatica. I'm taking some of his advised supplements and its helping with bgs and reducing my insulin need. His advice, as others too is to keep sugars below 7.8mmol/l to keep away from nerve damage from high sugars.

It's now 10:45 Ante Meridian on Sunday 5th June in the present year of 2016, 16 years into the Millennium and the 21st Century.

I administered all my anti-hypertensive, anti-ADHD and anti-urinary retention oral prescribed medication at 6:00 Ante Meridian. I have also been food-free (I don't have hypo's, it says on my Diabetes Community Clinic report that I have "nil hypo's) since 3:52 Ante Meridian. My blood glucose reading was much more acceptable and pleasing to myself of 6.2 Millimoles Per Litre. I have been smoking a few "Holborn Yellow" tobacco hand-rolled cigarettes, approximately 12-13, and have ingested approximately 5-6 glasses of tap water. I am keeping myself occupied by watching "Revelation TV", my favourite Christian satellite television channel and chatting to my best friend Lee Collingwood and smoking roll-ups with him. He is feeling really unwell and nauseous and had to go to his doctor's surgery about this symptom which may be due to the 550 mg of Clopixol phenothiazine anti-psychotic medication for his Paranoid Schizophrenia with Suicidal Ideation. He has been very supportive of my Asperger Syndrome and ADHD and osteoarthritis and says he sees me as his best friend. He feels a bit guilty about causing my hyperglycaemia yesterday and denies that I prompted him to buy it. He's going to provide me with fruit and vegetables rather than foodstuffs loaded with glucose and complex carbohydrates.

Have a lovely day, my friends on www.diabetes.co.uk, and thank you for the lovely comments and quotes on my very concerning post yesterday and I have taken a "Bic" pen and my notebook and jotted down freehand the things I must do to avoid hyperglycaemia in the future according to your kind advice and concerns.

It is a lovely, sunny and warm day here in my locality at present, although the sky is very cloudy.

Hopefully he won't wait too long.
