Type 2 Life

Hi Folks :) Saw GP and was told it could be a fractured Patella? (kneecap to you non-medical persons) and was told to go to A & E, but was given an X Ray request form of GP. So, off we went to A & E at 3.15pm - in A & E they refused to see/treat me because I had X Ray Request from , so off to X Ray we went and waited 30 minutes and my knee was X Rayed, when I asked if it was a fracture of the Patella? Was told they cannot tell me the answer:mad:, but report will be sent to my GP within 7 to 10 days!!! So we came home. @13lizanne - @mo53 - @ickihun - @debrasue - @Providence 62 - @Sable_Jan - @Diamum5972 - and anybody else I have not tagged. = Sorry :) William x
Badger your GP to death from NOW......

Just hope there not like my hospital William and it takes weeks not days to send results to your gp

Having worked for the NHS as a Nurse for over 30 years, I am just stunned that they could not give me a simple Yes OR No. I used to always answer to the best of my ability if a patient (or Relative) asked me a direct question. I am just so disappointed and feel the NHS is going down the drain - it's so very sad really!! Guess I will just have to "hobble" about for the next 7 to 10 days and avoid all open doors!!!:D Thank You ALL for your kind words. William x

Oh no, poor William! Injured knees are so painful, aren't they? Keep harassing your GP and you'll probably get an answer faster... Hugs xx

I have a friend who's a radiologist and she says they're not allowed to give out results as they aren't medically qualified. The X-rays have to be examined by a doctor or consultant... Covering their backs, I guess.
:(

hi all have finally got a update for you my eye screening results have come in and been confirmed maculopathy and been referred to the ophthalmology dept for further treatment .
my neurology appointment has now come through for end july so just need to suffer for a while longer
thanks to you all for your continued support
and big hugs to all that are suffering
I'm very sorry to hear that, Ron. I hope the ophthalmologists can help.
Big hugs.

@liam1955 give it 2 days then call gp for emergency appointment. Tell him/her getting worse.
Just keep in mind they will mention arthritis as well.
Could this be aggravated arthritis due to the knock? As I too would like to think if broken gp is last person to do anything about it.
I think if broken they send you back to sit in a&e for a cast.

Well, it had better be, for their sake!
This is my passion. Medical negligence. I wanted to work for nhs when I was first studying.
I have to make a decision soon. Study to be a dietician or law degree and see what happens after that.
We're with you on this one William.

And this one, tho you may not be able to tell has been paddling in the pool with her head under water again
She's gorgeous - like a white wolf! And Rocks is a very handsome boy, isn't he?

So. If a person comes from gp with broken back or neck, they are x-rayd and sent away? Would they not most likely die?
There must be some safety measure in place.

@liam1955 they are treating it as not urgent, nor life threatening. So it must be, eh?

This article is one of the best about maculopathy @eldergarth and might help you to understand the condition.
Don't try and get your blood sugars lower too fast as it will aggravate the condition.

I hope that you get this sorted and feel better soon.

@ickihun - Vicky, in case I forget 'Good Luck' for Wednesday and I hope it is productive? Let us know how you get on :). If I give you my phone number for the Surgery - will you hound them for me? :D

Suspected broken back or neck would leave the surgery on a spinal board in an ambulance to a&e!!
