Type 2 Life

I had the hypo from hell today. I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest like alien.
I haven't hypo'd for nearly a year now. I've had hundreds of 4s but very few low 3s. Today I had a 2. Poor toddlers chocolate took the brunt. Couldnt find my glucose tablets. I had potato afterwards to ensure no rebound.
It left me hugely energetic. Housework done in 20mins.
Not recommended thou. My heart couldnt take many of those!
Oh no! Sending you massive hugs Vicky, when I was first diagnosed I had false hypos when I got down to 4.5 and that was scary enough! Make sure you take it easy (I know, easier said than done!)

My general rule of thumb for me personally is:

3-4 mmol/l - headache and hunger (extreme)
2-3 mmol/l - sweating and palpitations
< 2 mmol/l - acting different, can be aggressive/foul mouthed, staggering, unconsciousness when approaching 1 or less mmol/l.

Everybody is different. Sometimes no warning at all. :)

I'm doing OK thanks Vicky been seizure free for couple days now so touch wood my BG are all over place but expected I guess .
Big hugs Vicky for your hypo I've had one in the low 2's my self the other month not nice .
Give our love to your mum and hope all goes well for her tests
What meds do you take for seizures ? Just curious. :)

At the minute Eddie I've been prescribed gabapentin while waiting for scan results it's supposed to help but still get the odd ones now and again neurologist wouldn't prescribe correct meds until MRI results confirm the MS

Hi Eddie - I contacted a mod yesterday about it, and so far = not a word!
Difficult one... There was a kerfuffle a couple of months ago, when people stopped posting on that thread because it was being so stringently policed by the mods, and posters were being cautioned if they added anything other than a simple FBG statement.
The mods reconsidered their position and relaxed the rules a little to allow posters to also add brief comments, as long as they related to FBG.
Life's never simple, though, and the comments side is escalating, as you point out, William.
I think it's probably related to the number of new members we are attracting to the forums. This is a good thing, and will inject the vitality a website needs in order to survive and grow, but it also means that threads need to be clearly labelled and well monitored to ensure that everyone using them is aware of the rules. Personally, I think we could handle this aspect better...

Yes we are aware of what happened last time Debrasue and the time before that a couple of years back. At that time this thread type 2 life was started so that people could talk further about their fbg and other bg levels etc. Perhaps @eddie1968 could tell us more? :)

It was a pretty strict thread and was just FBG figures - anything else was edited or removed. I think it became robotic just looking at figures - that's a bit boring IMO. :)

Yes, but there's a big difference between people posting a short comment and them posting videos, photos, recipes etc etc., there are designated threads for all of these things. This forum is often where newbies first get information, it's where I found help after following the NHS guidelines for 10 yrs! Just imagine what it must be like to come on to the fasting thread and be confronted with what's there just now. Y ou're an old hand at the diabetes game and yet, like me you don't post on there anymore either.

Are you leaving us Liam?

Yes @maureen5752 time has come, have enjoyed it and been a member of this forum since July 2014 - but too many nice people have left and the Forum is going down the drain in my opinion - rules are not being adhered too and threads being derailed.
You take good care of yourself and hope your peripheral neuropathy improves. William xx
