Starting new threads is always a good idea, especially to get new blood on a topic ( so to speak lol) but maybe not copying some else's.
That's all from me, as I don't want to derail your thread and will scurry off now to the Type 1's R Us thread

Ok Mod hat on now. My view on the whole Type 1 R Us and Type 2 R Us threads is this. Yes they have similar names but they are each clearly posted in the appropriate sub forum. If this does cause a problem in the future us Mods can consider changing one of the titles, but this may cause confusion in itself. For now I suggest we all see how it pans out.

Good to start a new thread for T2 life as I agree with Rachox on the other thread. I still read it, but do get a little lost on the story line at times!! Cheers to all the regular contributors though!! Perhaps this could be pinned at the top of the T2 subforum so we can access easily instead of having to scroll through other posts?? Cheers/L

I am currently considering following a 30 day Paleo for Diabetics plan - got the book and read it and wonderful sounding recipes.....seem to need a change up due to IBSD and fibro......hate both!! But, that is what I deal with...Also just finished Dr. Fung's Diabetic Code - excellent read, so clear and concise and understandable So thinking about IF on a much more regular schedule - he suggest 30 or 36 hour fasts. Also read an interesting thread by Rainbow - sorry can't remember her full moniker - where she isn't eating until her sugars are in the 5s...an interesting approach. Meanwhile, I'm still LCMFMP (due to IBS) until I decide....Any opinions, suggestions?? Cheers/L
 
I wish I could come up with suggestions @lindijanice . There are so many different approaches, and I'm glad they weren't all around when I first started or I would have been just as undecided! I've been lucky right from the start as lchf normal protein suited me and my metabolism.

I did begin a sort of IF of 18/6 every day 18 months ago and have stuck with it. I tried it because I wanted to improve my throughout the morning readings, not that they were horrendous, but higher than I liked., and didn't want to lose any weight. I do have a coffee with cream as soon as I get up, and a cup of tea mid morning, but no food other than in the 6 hour window (2 meals). It worked for me, and suited our meal time arrangements.

I wish you luck with whatever way you go.
 
Part of peeing a lot is that we may get dehydrated, and thus feel tired. I try to break up my drinking of water with bovril (for the salt) and Merlot

I particularly like the Merlot bit. Not at all sure about the bovril.

Another 15 minutes and I can crack open the red.
 
Hello everybody. I havent been around much lately as I have been staying away with a friend after surgery for breast cancer. I found the two weeks quite challenging to eat properly. Luckily she was told to eat good protein and plenty of green veg. Since thats what I eat in the evening that worked well. I did overdo the strawberries a bit. I wasnt sleeping well and my BG numbers werent as good as at home.
Got back to the family and then son came back from Uni with way too many things most still dumped around the house. Am hoping OH can clear a space in the garage.
But the joy of being back in my own kitchen reunited with all my old pots and pans has surprised me. Not to mention my cats. I had to sleep with a dog on my bed who threw up all over the bed the first night. Yuk!
Meanwhile have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both ankles and have put myself on high dose cod liver oil. Am due my next HBa1c test in a couple of weeks and I am hoping for the best. Then off to Cornwall in July with my nearest and dearest for a long weekend to mark my 60th.
Btw I wish people wouldnt fuss about trivia like names of threads. There are more important things to worry about
 

Its always good to be back home. I hope your friend is recovering well. It is such a traumatic time for her, but wonderful she has a good friend like you to help out. The best of luck with your HbA1c.

Thanks for your kind remarks. My friend lives alone so it has been very difficult and she has no family other than us so it was an easy choice for me.
 
Merlot is drunk (a glass, not the whole bottle) a lovely big tuna salad with full fat mayo has been consumed. Knitting or spinning will commence in a hour.

what are you lot doing this evening? or is this thread for type 2 related chatter? if so, red wine is good for my blood sugar levels, in moderation : )
 
Just had a sneaky Gin and slimline I find mote refreshing in the summer. Red wine when the weather is cooler. Have cooked various pasta combinations forOH son and girlfriend and now about to stirfry veg with dash of Teryaki sauce for me. Afterwards a bit of mindblowing TV NOT Love Island, lunches for tomo and then bed.
Is everyone having lovely weather?
