Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

B: Mushroom omelette, 2 small wholemeal toast, water

L: 6 Ryvita wholemeal crispbreads, Philadelphia, strawberries, Mullerlight yogurt

T: Small piece of oven baked battered cod, 6 sweet potato chips, mushy peas, water
Red bush tea.

B: Greek yogurt with strawberries, 2 boiled eggs, water

L: Tuna mayo butty on Burgen, strawberries, Mullerlight yogurt

T: 2 pork sausages, 2 fried eggs, baked beans, coffee
 
3 coffees...one with milk, the other cream. No sugar.
Smoked salmon from Aldi with fried Halloumi.
Beef jerky ( surprisingly 'high' in carb)
Rib eye steak and two sausages.
Pepsi max.
 
B..cup of tea
lunch 3 eggs, cheese and chia seeds
dinner..tinned salmon, mixed peppers, plum toms, and a slice of hovis low carb bread, lots of butter.
and 3 pints of water during the day x

Nothing so far - tea and sparkling water. I'm trying to drive down my overnight BG which is invariably >7. This evening I'll have a large pork chop some cauliflower and a couple of pieces of 85% chocolate

Hi Dave, I can't make fried halloumi work. It just tastes like salty rubber. Any suggestions?
 
1 egg, bacon, salad with homemade mustard sauce (no sweetener), mushrooms. For some reason it spiked my BS 1 hour later. I drink about 100 ounces of water daily. First thing most mornings, I have a glass of diet cranberry juice which is sugar free and so far has never spiked my BS. The past week I have been drinking a few ounces of a new product, "Mio Liquid Water Enhancer"
in fruit punch flavour. I was under the impression it was safe to drink but now going to have to watch it the next couple of days to see if that is what caused a large spike this morning.

B: Cheese on toast (Kingsmill Super Seedy), tea.
L: Cheese & 4 various crackers, tea.
T: Low carb shepherds pie, red wine
Red bush tea.
 
B. Fried egg on low-carb buttered toast, half an avocado, black tea, black coffee.
L. In cafe. Roast green vegetables frittata, green salad, a new potato, butterbean salad. Two hour walk in glorious sunshine.
Snack. Mixed nuts
D. Large mushroom topped with cheese, ratatouille.
Greek yoghurt and 3 small tinned apricots.
(Fried halloumi. Rapidly fried in a small amount of oil. Needs to be cooked and eaten quickly before it turns rubbery.)
 
Rice pudding for breakfast with jam and crumpets
Cream bun and hot chocolate for morning tea
Curried chips wrapped in Lebanese bread and an apple pie for lunch
Spaghetti with meatballs and Ice cream with caramel topping for tea

Then the phone rang and woke up.
You forgot the fresh jam donuts!

Mine also squeaked so although I did quite enjoy it I felt I was eating live rubber bands!:eek:

Unfortunately my fried Halloumi occasionally tended to stick a bit to the bottom of the pan - my (jnsert rude word here) husband kicked up such a fuss if this happened and I left the pan soaking a little before washing up that I gave up! Some things are never meant to be....:banghead:
