And your readings are?
That's not the point of this thread. @LivingLightly has already tested those foods previously and knows how the foods affect her. It's mainly to give people ideas of things they may like to make.

Me, I had another low-carb kedgeree. Cauliflower rice, onions, garlic and smoked frankfurters, fried in butter. With salmon, previously poached in water and smoked paprika, mushrooms, peas and boiled eggs. I stirred in curry powder, turmeric and chilli powder. This one was nicer than the last. There were a few too many peas, mind, but it was gorgeous.

Evening @IanBish. That certainly sounds scrumptious. Thanks for sharing.

I hadn't heard of those [Kalamata olives] before reading your posts, but I spotted some tonight, so I got a jar of them.
Evening @IanBish. I hope you enjoy them. I love Kalamata olives, named btw after the Grecian city where they were first grown. Large and juicy, they're perfect for Greek salads. They also go well with most Italian dishes.

They're quite nice, but they had stones in them!
Hmmm ... I always select the pitted Kalamatas. Some prefer the flavour of unpitted olives, but pitting yourself by hand, even with an olive pitter, is awfully time consuming or perhaps I just haven't mastered the knack.

Being told “Oh go on, one won’t hurt you!”.
Conversely, the food police.
WARNING: May cause shock and alarm.
B: Yesterday I treated DD and grandson to breakfast at a posh restaurant and had a traditional English, sans beans, toast and potato. Extra mushrooms and grilled tomatoes instead.
L: Then grandson’s birthday party. Ended up grazing on leftover tuna and sweetcorn wraps, cheese/pineapple pieces, Victoria Sponge birthday cake decorated with whipped fresh cream and berries.
D: 10:30 pm at Euston train station Crispy Korean Chicken wrap (huge), with a whole Yorkie chocolate bar. In for a penny, in for a pound scenario.

Libre alarm woke entire Sleeper train with a peak of 15.4 an hour and a half later.

Brilliant news is that it was back down within 4 hours to 5.7.
I expected it to be in the mid 8s to 9s for at least 8 hours.

Ahh, yesterday ......

B - 1.15pm - 2 slices sourdough, half cup greek yoghurt large coffee

D - 6.00pm - prawn cocktail (various sizes of the little critters), old fashioned, but I love it, followed by lobster thermidor and a couple of glasses of w. wine, followed by a chocolate nut cake (forgotten what it's called , an Italian fav I'm told, has no flour therefore minimal carbs)
BUT
Previous day did not fare so well - B was a couple of poached eggs on sourdough with grilled bacon (eaten out) and D was ...... rather a lot if I remember correctly, including cheese. Now it was after the main rush of dinner that I had a large espresso and thought, it's christmas, why not, and ate 2 chocolate covered biscuits (as seen on TV) which I have always rather enjoyed. However, having not consumed such since diagnosis (March) I now find them altogether too much with regard to sweetness and gave rest away! **** and blast.

Evening @bitofagit. I remember similar experiences. Soon after diagnosis in April 2003, I went cold turkey on sweetmeats. Although I'd thought my palate might change, I was unprepared for how quickly that happened.

Yesterday, Christmas Eve.

B: Two eggs scrambled in butter with a generous dollop of double cream, sautéed chestnut mushrooms and baby plum tomatoes, topped with parsley and seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Aperitif: dry white wine
Baked whole sea bass, belly stuffed with sprigs of thyme and garlic, drizzled with olive oil.
Steamed asparagus spears smothered with butter.
A medley of baked broccoli, cauliflower, onions and sweet red peppers.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Four squares, Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% cocoa chocolate.

D: Salad made with anchovy fillets, eggs, avocado, lettuce, Padrón chillies, salad onions, lemon verbena and a touch of lemon juice, with a dollop of home-made aioli for dipping, topped with walnut halves.

I spent much of the day preparing for the Christmas Day feast. Santa left a bottle of my favourite tipple in the hearth and I savoured a nightcap before turning in.

Wishing a peaceful Christmas to all of our forum family. Take care everyone and enjoy the Yuletide festivities.
