Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

8.5
Type 2 , only been on insulin for a week, so still "actively managing" dose.
Was over 13 fbg daily beforehand :banghead: , so I'm happy with the progress - feeling a lot better. :)

Hi folks, from a rainy, but not too cold Newcastle. FBG 4.4 today (Saturday.) Gonna have myself a toffee apple. Addicted to em! (((((Hugs))))) for you @4ratbags.

Hi. Toffee apples..oh hell yeah.. that'd be nice. I notice we were diagnosed at the same time. We also both stopped smoking by just not smoking. I wondered what your initial levels were and how you got down to 4.4. and what meds you are on,(if any). How do I get to the toffee apple stage? I am making good progress on a very low carb diet and just hit my best morning level yet at 5.8. I'd kill a puppy for a toffee apple. Ok, maybe I wouldn't kill one..but I'd refuse to pat it (for a we while).

5.8 this morning...my best yet...pretty chuffed. This low carb diet is working so well. A few weeks ago I was hitting 8.5. Thne I was on meds and avoiding sweet stuff only. Also, coz I have to take steroids I have a spike a couple of hours after them...and that was as high as 16.5 and even 18 once but it's been coming down to around 8.5. Just checked it and its 7.5. I'm feeling good today.:smug:

Morning all! woke up with a BG of 5.4 mmol/L. Much more comfortable with these numbers. I'll live with the hypos for values like this.
