Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Sounds good. Ive now started to count my carbs as I never did before. How much is it to join, if you don't mind me asking?
Too flipping much! I paid £69 and a few pence but that's for the whole year. I've been exploring the site today - it really is very good. I haven't regretted subscribing inspite of the expence.

Good Morning! 5.6 at 0615.
Lower than recently, but might be due to 4 glasses of Merlot last night after 10 weeks of abstinence.
I've been off the wine since January - fancy a glass now and again but nervous about indulging....

Being on insulin isn't bad as your sugars will come down as I know as been on it for most of my 25 yrs as a diabetic and the other on tablets for it but on tablets my sugars were high so I was on insulin and that my sugars are fine and I have not had many high sugars but a couple of hyperglycaemia episodes but that was my fault for them but I do have a few hypos but they are not so bad as they were a few times and I don't think it has ever given me any problems except for the tablets

Have a glass and test. You maybe surprised! Go on, your levels have been brilliant. You deserve a treat.
I get my first pension payment in 3 weeks - perhaps I'll buy a bottle to celebrate being an OAP!

Many thanks Daisy ........ it's only been a week since the GP told me "oh by the way, before I forget, you've got diabetes!" Seems so much longer, my life seems so different now and I am a bit shocked. I bought a good meter right away and have been doing blood glucose tests every morning when I wake up and sometimes in the day. He wanted some more tests which I need to book next week so not on meds yet, but bought several books and changed my diet instantly......
Last Friday i was 82.5kg, this Friday I was 80.1kg......so hoping I can lose approx 15kg, but it is fairly hard going as I do look for my quick fix carbs and sweet things (chocolate mostly).
Will find my way around I am sure.....I took a look at the Low Carb Program but it seems quite pricey and I will look around a bit before deciding. I thought it was My Fitness Pal initially as they seem very similar!!
I was pleased, though, that today's fasting early AM level was 6.7.........lowest it's been since I started.

Onwards and downwards.........

When I got my first UK monthly pension payment it went mainly on beer, only ten more days and it goes in my bank for this month here in Australia.

Edit: typo.

6.4 at 0715hrs. I have absolutely Zero willpower at the weekend and nibble everything and anything that comes to hand.
My (meagre) UK pension pays for cat and dog food and sundry other pet expenses - they are the ‘luxury’ I allow myself, get me out and about and keep me sane(-ish ).

Try Montezumas Absolute Black chocolate - virtually no carbs and packed with flavour! Good luck with your journey - I'm relatively newly diagnosed too. Diabetes has completey changed my life, for the better. Bright blessings to you xx
