Welcome to the forum @Julie black. 6.5 isn't bad for a fasting bg reading. My average fbg is around 6.5, but usually in 5s later in the day.

last night before bed : 5.5. One of the lowest readings in a while.

6.3 this morning. Not bad and not unhappy but was expecting (hoping rather!) that it would be below 6!!! But alas...
