Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.5 this morning :) not bad after a naughty BBQ yesterday - I had a baked chocolate brioche (small portion) and very nice it was too! :D Have a good day all!;)

Well, after a weekend of being very good, I was 7.5 on waking . To make matters worse, I didn't have breakfast, tested mid morning and it had risen to 9.3. Just tested before lunch and it had dropped slightly to 8.5. I have no idea why it's so high today. I ate very carefully, got lots of sleep and did some exercise. Grrrr

5.2 :( Threw the diet out the window last night and had a fray bentos steak & kidney pie with new potatoes. yumm.
I think you'll be fine. The calories you must have used up wrestling with the fray bentos tin. Even Olympians have trouble opening them. Ha ha

I get a similar problem when I have a liver dump, make sure you don't skip breakfast even if it's only something small, I go for a handful of nuts as eating something will send a message to your liver that it can stop topping up your BG levels and that you've solved the short fall of glucose by starting to eat food.
Last time it happened my Waking BG was 6.5 and BGL before lunch it was 8, after 2hrs it was down to 5.9 it seem it's a pain but the liver is very adapt piece of kit, it knows when you skip too much food. Remember it's about monthly averages the short term blips may not matter that much in the long term, as long as there aren't any major double figure spikes going on, it's all good.

Morning 4.6
HbA1c results today

That's very interesting, @Stallen. You'd think that it would work the other way round, ie if your blood sugar is high, not eating would make it drop as the body used it up, whereas eating would push it higher. But nothing is straightforward with this disease! I am going to make more of an effort to eat breakfast, it's such a pain when it has to be low carb as my usual favourites (toast or porridge) are forbidden. I am not good in the morning, and have to leave at 07.30 to get to work, so tend to lie in bed as long as I can get away with it and then not leave time to shower, dress and do anything complicated for breakfast. I was organised last week and made stuff ahead that I could grab. Nuts are a good option. I love peanut butter but can't imagine eating it neat.

@ickihun I jump out of the pool, long hot shower with friendly banter among the other chaps then home to test ... maybe I need to calm it down. I guess if liver dump is reason I can relax a bit? The exercise is good and I feel so great now I'm doing a dedicated 30 minute swim 4 times a week.

It's never going to straightforward that would be way to easy, take each day and try your best, that's about all any of us can do.

I'm trying something new tomorrow, I joined a 24hr gym hoping to avoid the DP at least, and gain a bit more energy for the rest of the day.

It's an early 4am breakfast followed by a brisk, hopefully not in the rain walk 45 min to the gym, hoping for an hour or two work out, planning not to over do it, before heading to one of two hospital appointments.

Hello everybody. My head is pounding and I'm full of cold , awake in middle of night but my bs is 5.7 which is probably my best!
