Thanks for that Ickii.Less stress Tim seems to be the key. Well done on a fantastic fbg.
Read an article sometime ago about an overnight condition/effect that can give high fasting reading take another reading say midday (before lunch) and back to normal??As requested in another thread....
My fasting level today 8.3.****. Over to other T2s now....
I am on religious fast today so no food or drink until about 9pm... my bgl have risen a bit... must have gotten up just before my dawn phenomena! Went from 3.7 to 3.9 then back down to 3.8 and now in the 4s, i am hungry but going to have a nap while my baby sleeps... food is done for the family and so are my jobs (for now) i keep my test kit with me so if i do feel bad i can just test quickly to see what is happening.A protein nibble may keep you out of trouble and keep your lchf on track.
I have a toddler who still naps. Do you recommend fasting?I am on religious fast today so no food or drink until about 9pm... my bgl have risen a bit... must have gotten up just before my dawn phenomena! Thanks for the advice when i am not religiously fasting i will try that.
Sounds stressful. Hope once you relax it settles down.8.3
Wondering if the kind of dream which had me chasing around all over the place trying to sort the whole world out then had me waking up utterly exhausted and later than usual had any effect?! Not been in the 8s for days! (Food all much as usual and at usual times yesterday along with normal kinds of exercise levels.)
I am a muslim so it is one of the obligations to fast one month (ramadan) a year. We also have voluntary fasts. The way we fast is different as not only do we have no food or drink but we cant take anything considered food (even chewing gum), the fast also includes what we say and do so we strive to do good things and not allowed to say anything bad (hard when you are feeling bad tempered and hungry). So the islamic fast us for mind body and soul and a lot harder than some of the intermittent fasters on here who do a few hours and still drink.I have a toddler who still naps. Wow I admire your discipline and strength.I am a muslim so it is one of the obligations to fast one month (ramadan) a year. We also have voluntary fasts. If you are able to nap with the toddler it may help (cuts out a few hours) and yes you can try it... it detoxs the body and clears out the liver so liver dumps are smaller.
If you arent used to fasting maybe try missing a meal while still drinking to see how you handle it and go from there!!! Keep a record of bgl and let us know how you get on!
Mine today were hourly results. Fbg 3.7, 3.9, 3.8, 4.3, 4.7, 4.4, 4.3, 3.8... i vlc but my body is still able to keep me at a good level, i am also seeing a change to my insulin levels as being better but that is after a month of fasting and now into voluntary!
how did u lose weight .iwas told metformin should help me lose weight ,but I cant lose any .on 1500 per day.
Depends what you break ypur fast with!!! Some of them take loads of sugary things (vimto sales rise during ramadan lol) i on the other hand low carb eating a salad and a soup. Today is a spanish seafood stew and stuffed peppers. I make a good chocolate mousse from 90% chocolate which doesnt effect my bgl and eat seaweed as a snack (why irish woman are beautiful).Wow I admire your discipline and strength.
You would think all religious fasters would have great bgs if they are insulin resistant.
Or is it excellent control then once it's not so excellent when the diabetes strikes? Maybe.
Your readings are excellent and are a credit to your very hard work. Well done.
I lost weight by eating the LCHF way...there are lots of links and information about it on here.how did u lose weight .iwas told metformin should help me lose weight ,but I cant lose any .on 1500 per day.
7.1As requested in another thread....

Don't overdo it, honey - diabetes is a marathon rather than a sprint! Hugs
Keep your chin up. A 6.1 is still within the normal range, you are doing really well.Stressed out with very high ketone level result found yesterday :/
My evening was a horror story of searching on internet of DKA. Scary stuff.
But I was a fool, doing that - only adding stress to my system.
As a result, BGL rose quite significantly and waking up today with 6.1 :'(
Duh, back to where I was again.
But I am not seeing this as a failure.
I try to remind myself it is a marathon rather than a sprint.
Thank you for your encouragement Debra!
There's so much to learn and this is just my second month
I want a huge bowl of chocolate ice cream with double choco sauce on it!
Yum!
*cries*
