Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

5.2 yesterday, 5.1 today :D

Was a slob yesterday evening and ate strips of hot turkey leg dipped in mayonnaise while watching TV. Mmmm! I buy lots of spare turkey legs after Christmas (people buying crowns and not wanting the legs) and freeze them; 2 good meals on a turkey leg!

7.7 rising to 10.7 after breakfast.

Mine is 15.6 at the moment (after 15 hour fast) I did get it down to 10.8 a couple of months ago but my body is rebelling now and it is just rocketing again. Non fasting I am reaching 24+.

Needless to say I am not very well controlled yet! Was diagnosed in august, and I do not have a high sugar or carb diet.

Heres hoping the gliclazide does some good, because metformin alone isnt :( and I really really dont want to end up insulin dependant.

7.2 this morning, not very well at all. 1 slice of Burgen and half a tin of Tomato soup in over 24 hours

Wow Stephie, that really is high. When I was diagnosed I was on 8, that was a year ago. Now my FBS is generally in the early 5's. If I eat 'right', I can get the 4's on a fasting. Have you tried cutting all carbs for a while, just to get some control.
All the whites. flour, breads, pasta, rice, potatoes, juices ens. I do have a little LC fruit. But I am careful with fruit.
It just seems terribly high those numbers to me.

Having slept from 12pm last night to 2.45pm today ... (I really was tired) ... my FBG on waking was 6.1 with Codefree, which is the lowest FBG I've ever had so far. As codefree readings are high it's probably 5.1 in real terms.

Welcome to the forum.
I see your profile states you are a Type2 on insulin.
If you make a new post and introduce yourself and tell us if you have any other health problems and what you normally eat, we will try and help you get those levels down.

My morning bloods are between 5 - 7.5

Not sure why it changes so much as I eat a similar meal each night :roll:

7.1 this morning with Codefree so that's probably 6.1 :)
