Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

After a blow out on bread yesterday a surprising 5.5 this morning.

Hopefully ive found a new bread I can tolerate.

5.2 this morning - my best fasting reading for almost three months! 12,000 steps of walking around London yesterday and although not ultra low carb, had a fairly light supper. Did have a couple of glasses of red wine earlier in the evening though.

Bewildered - Metformin doesn't work on an individual dose-by-dose basis. It's effects build up over a few days/doses, and similarly, missing the odd dose has a minimal impact; good or bad. So, in reality, it will take a few days to see the impact of your reduction.

Hi, so I started the lower dose on Sunday and I had my best fasting glucose result today, do you think I am still 'under the influence' of the higher dose? TIA

That's impossible to say, but clearly if your numbers are reducing you must be doing something right.

When I was working on reducing my scores, I noticed they didn't trickle down, but would cluster around a certain figure, then notch downward and stay there, then repeat. That's a phenomenon others also observed.

Stick with it. I sounds like you're on the right track.

Let us which one it is I have problems with bread. Burgen soya and linseed small loaf is ok.

This is from the Genesis range of the Five Continents bakery down the road in Eltham....?.
Made with olive oil, rapeseed oil and sea salt and plenty of nuts and seeds. Carb content is 39.5 per 100g so why ive stwyed low is beyond me.

Maybe its the butter I heaped on it.

I know where you mean its high carb even though I don't low carb. The butter is no good good to me cause of dairy allergy but could always try vitalite

Is that the one near the church and little tesco on Eltham hill

Good morning all from a dull & cloudy start to the day in Devon, fasting reading 5.0 so not all bad to the start of the day, sunshine later hopefully

Morning Everyone, 6.3 after mash potatoe and prawns for supper;-)
I guess this seems stable, I'll do the read after breakfast.
Just wanted to ask: is it possible that after years of undiagnosed high blood glucose -around 10...-, my body got so used to it, that values under 6.5 are felt like mild hypos?
Has anyone experienced the same?
Is this going to change over time?
Any input would be appreciated:-)
Great day, enjoy as Midlands are having two days of summer, after which autumn's back...

Moshe, you may be able to help yourself by ditching the potatoes.

5.7 mmol / L this morning.
5.9 mmol / L at bed time.

WOW - happy with that as morning test was past the time I normally see a rise due (I suspect) to my dawn phenomenon.

Bed time just after 11pm and I had my staple bed time food - which has kept my levels stable again?!

Oh, my blood ketones were 0.6 mmol / L at bed time and 1.3 mmol / L this morning - so firmly back in ketosis overnight - very pleased with that too!

Morning all,

5.9 this morning, feeling much better and back into the 5's ( high 5's:))
have a great day everyone:D:D
