4.9 this morning

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

Had to get up at 6.00am yesterday to catch a plane so I was interested to see any dawn phenomenon happening as I usually rise at 7.45am . But FBG was 4.3 ( viz the usual 5.0) Today getting up 4 hours later than normal ( time zone change) it's 4.5 . During a 9 hour flight I tested 3 time and was between 4.5 and 5.0 each time. It's really hard to work out what does what in respect of BG levels. Expect high and get low and the reverse.

Well done Steve

I was 4.9 and then 4.6 two hours post-breakfast.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

Yes getting better Steve well done.

Mine was 5.4 again but I didn't get up today until very late.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.3 this morning.
Had a bit of a naughty day yesterday! Had a bacon butty at a Little Chef then an apple pie at McDonalds (and a few fries). Why don't McD do decaf coffee? What makes you think I had my grandson with me!
Usually find one off day doesn't impact on my fasting levels - two off days is a different story!

Keeping below 20g carbs every day.

Under 20g a day is absolutely brilliant, well done. Really impressed with your determination.

5.0 for me today.

Oh xyzzy what a disappointment. I hoped that if you stayed in the 5s I would one day be able to match you, but now that you're in the 4s i have no chance. Could I coax you back into the 5s again?
6.2 this morning.

6.2 this morning.

 It's just all down to patience... really it is. Since "D" day on Dec 8th putting aside the occasional night out and treats I've stuck roughly to my 60g / day average. One of the first questions I asked after I joined was "How do I get the morning reader lower?" Got told by loads of people be patient and low carb to give your poor old panc a rest.

I get a bit complacent nowadays. I use to have a rule that if I woke up above 6 then I'd go out a madly stomp around the pavements for about 10 mins. I could guarantee that would knock 1 off my reading within an hour. Perhaps I should lower that to 5 as that bit of exercise was probably doing me a load of good.

Patience in action...

I'm back in the 4s too, Xyzzy - 4.8 for me at 08:00

Going to be good(-ish) from now on, on the run-up to my next HbA1c in mid-June.

5.4 for me, but down to 5.3 two hours post-breakfast. I had a quiet day yesterday after coming back from a week's holiday up on the Black Isle and I was really tired and slept too heavily last night.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.2 this morning. Happy days.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

10.1 for me.
The nurse called me back this morning and was pleased that 'the Gliclazide's really helping'.
My Metformin's been increased to 2x500mg in a morning.
Well done everyone with low figures today!
