No. I do not think that is what he is saying. In fact I do not think he is responding to your point about carbs at all. I think he is just making lighthearted play of words on "this will kill me" phrase. Are you saying he is calling me a coward for not eating lots of carbs?

I think you got the drift Pavlos,.No. I do not think that is what he is saying. In fact I do not think he is responding to your point about carbs at all. I think he is just making lighthearted play of words on "this will kill me" phrase.
To me his comment does not sound confrontational rather more philosophical. I would not read too much into it.
But he can explain himself.
Actually, it's worth it's own post.
Why on earth would I do that?
Eating carbs isn't a challenge.
I repeatedly have said I eat carbs because of the lifestyle I choose to have, and balance the carbs against exercise, against higher BG then some would maybe like, against the sports I don't want to quit doing, against controlling what I eat, and a host of other pros and cons.
Controlling diabetes isn't a game.
It's not a p**sing contest over the lowest numbers, equally it's not a p**sing contest over the highest amount of carbs.
It's not a fight with the NHS.
It's about what we do to get the best quality of life, for the time we're here.
I have my way to do that for me, you have yours.
But one thing I do accept is, one day, I will die, and I'm good with that.
Hi Douglas, I'm lost on this one where did all this come from?
Nicosia, Cyprus not Greece.I think you got the drift Pavlos,.
Just as a side where are you in Greece?
@douglas99
I guess what you are saying is that we should not let our fear of dying stop us from living.
Which of course should not be misinterpreted as saying that we should ignore our disease or abandon what we need to do to control it and stay alive, but rather that we should not let it take over our lives to the point that we forget what makes our lives worth living for.
Anyway, I still plan to ask my diabetic nurse (well, she's not diabetic, just has diabetic patients) why she is recommending a diet (>45% calories from carbs) that will send most of us type 2s, except @douglas99, to an early grave, or at least to injecting insulin.
Nicosia, Cyprus not Greece.
I am a Greek Cypriot.
Sorry Pavlos, thought Greece, apologies.
It's just we have sailed on Holiday in the South & North Ionian off the coast of Greece. But never been to Cyprus will have to go sometime.
Neil
Once again, let us simply read this, and agree we are all here to help each other, and listen to someone who can manage to articulate what I do actually mean.
Yes It is and should be your OWN unique story. We are all ultimately on the same side trying to make it through and sharing our experiences and thoughts. I'm a 5.5 tonight and GOOD NIGHT ALL!!I couldn't speak for any other T2's, or even most of them.
I can only tell you my story.
And, I know it's not a fasting level, but my bedtime is 5.8, so I'm good with that now.
Thanks Jan hope your well. I go back to Doctors on Wed for check up and hbac1 test. So more blood tests (wish they would leave me some) had 5 blood test in 4 weeks. Turning into a pin cushion.Glad to hear you are off the antibiotics. Good numbers seeing as you are still not fully well yet. Take care, Jan
I can, apparently.I couldn't speak for any other T2's, or even most of them.
I can only tell you my story.

No problem.Sorry Pavlos, thought Greece, apologies.
