Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn
Alright, I've gone pretty ketogenic for the past week.
6.5 on Monday
5.2 Tuesday
5.5 Wedneday
5.6 Thursday
5.6 Friday
5.4 Saturday
So going down slowly to where I would like it to be. Have reduced my NovoRapid to next to nothing (~3 units, day) and my Levemir is down to about 60 percent. Still a bit cautious with the levels over night, but it seems incredibly stable. Got in a couple 4am tests, they say basically the same as my fasting glucose numbers, so might go to bed with a 5 instead of a 5.5-6 and see what happens.
On 8-10 percent cals from carb atm with a 20-25 protein intake and then you can guess where the rest comes from.
Trying to avoid too deep ketosis as I get a bit sick easily - seems I don't like being acidic, heh. On the other hand, I can snap my fingers and be in ketosis again, so not so worried. Haven't noticed the ketostick not reacting for this whole week - on other hand, I don't want to see it purple. Will try next week to see if I can get anywhere with some more alkalising minerals...
