I'm a porridge lover and discovered I'm fine with it so long as I put a tablespoon of coconut oil in it and it tastes great too!

Many thanks for the advice. I'll definitely be trying that as I also love coconut. Where's the best place to buy coconut oil? I'm going to a health food shop this week to see if I can get coconut flour as I can't find any in my local supermarkets.

Thank you for the link, it certainly helped me understand it better. Every day is a school day.
... well put @KateA... :) And it never seems to stop...

You'll get your oil there for sure... I like the Biona one, but there are many organic, pure coconut oils on the market... I love it... :)

Perhaps you should take a sat nav to bed with you so when you head towards the fridge it will prompt "you have taken a wrong turning. turn right at the kitchen door and go back to bed!"
Do a U turn as soon as possible ....

4.9! Had a really low carb day yesterday even if I include my sugar free choc.....full English brekky (did have fried bread) meant I needed no dinner just had some low carb snacks mid afternoon and tea was homemade mushroom soup

3.4 this morning. That's the lowest reading I have had. Probably as a result of the tough 10K race yesterday.

That's brilliant! As soon as I dare I shall test fried bread - done in coconut oil of course... it'll be a while, I reckon... :)

Is that not getting a bit low? Or is it good? It makes me feel shaky and sweaty just looking at it? :) Well done on completing your 10K... I admire it, but could never do it... :(

@vit90 i usually use the codefree meter but am using the accu chek meter and my readings are higher
i have mentioned to my DN nurse and she said don,t worry as its a liver dump
i don,t feel ill

I have had a brainwave thanks to your post... :) If, as they say, it lowers the carbs considerably if you double, or treble cook pasta, would it work with roast potatoes - especially if they were roasted - divine inspiration - in coconut oil?:joyful: Wouldn't that be bliss? I shall try it as soon as I get home... I'll make roast chicken with lemon, garlic and fresh herbs, and I will try my first roast potatoes in 5.5 months... Can't wait to get home on Wednesday night now... :) @Sable_Jan ... what do you think? :)
I wonder if you perhaps slightly mire than parboil them and drain well before cooking? I'm actually far better with the carvery roasties which have obvs been deep fat roasted (and therefore absolutely delicious) cos the cooking oils have seeped well into the spuds mmmmmm dunno abt coconut roasties tho ;) tastewise that is....

EBay is where I get mine; flours, chia seeds, palm sugar etc

Trouble isn't feeling ill Ally it's over eight you are taking hits to your nervous system.
Nerves becoming damaged etc.

Most of us seem to do the morning high though... liver dump... one lady says, 'my liver loves me.. :arghh:" ... :)
I have never taken a reading before bed so haven't noticed the "liver dump " syndrome that gets mentioned on here . might not test b4 bed again the cost of strips and the fingers getting like pin cushions lol:(. Or maybe I'll wait till I getting my am reading down then see if there is a big difference , decisions decisions

Sometimes, so called Health Care Professionals.... should keep their illogical views to themselves....

As if Diabetic Complications, differentiates between a high reading caused by a liver dump, and a high reading caused by unwise or over indulgence.

Is it any wonder so many diabetic sufferer's, suffer needlessly in later life.....

Rant over....

I'm sorry I woke up in bed with the lady next door darling it was the satnav .... honest.

No chance I'd still get them cut off.

5.4 this morning, I'm almost certain my higher readings of late is due in part to stress...
1000 lines "I must try extra hard not to worry about things I have no control over"
