Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

4.8 this morning.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

I woke up today at 11.2 which is the lowest this week.

Yesterday I slept at 11.7 after a meal out. Considering I was very good. Italian place but i stayed away from pasta - having butterfly king prawns for starters, chicken with green beans and new potatoes for main. I even left a couple of potatoes behind....if u knew me you would know how important all this was for me. And also the other 3 people were merrily tucking into pudding, but not me.... i admit i took the end little bit of my boyfriend's pudding.

all in all it was a success for me - even though i am sure lots of people here would disagree......

I think you will find lots of us agree, not disagree!

Clay, you are one of those that is running high numbers, my daughter was the same, her numbers were always very high, often in the 20's although she has another condition which can effect things.

I was diagnosed with a Hba1c of 7.5, not tremendously high and the highest my bg has ever gone (I think) was 15. something. It's not a contest and you are a one for putting yourself down! Lowest bg for a week? Celebrate! Went out for a meal and avoided the pasta, ate the good stuff and only snaffled a teensy bit of pud? More celebrations (not the chocs lol) and a big pat on the back because you deserve it!

We are all fighting our own individual battle and to be honest, I don't think the numbers come into it. If you have been running at 12's and 13'2 and get an 11 it's great news! No different than me and my 5's this week..its the individual numbers, your own personal numbers that matter, not what anybody else has got.

So - congratulations Clay, you have done brilliantly

+1 Ladybird.

Numbers are neither good or bad. They are information to educate us.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

+2 on Ladybird's post as well.

Any movement down from whatever level is good news :D

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.5 today. Was expected after the Indian takeaway last night.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

6.7

I did wake up this morning with a banging headache - and my BG went from 5 to 10.5 mmol/l after my 5k race yesterday.

Still surprises me that I can get big old liver dumps and dawn effects with a supposedly glycogen depleted liver.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.7 improvement on my eternal 6's.

Never going to disagree, I know how hard you are trying. you earn a 100/10 for the effort you are putting in. Your diet is better, you are exercising. It's hard for people here to see what is going on with just numbers, but if people knew the real effort you are putting in, the entire forum would be so proud of you. I am!

Back to the eternal 6's but at least it was 6.0  Started the Newcastle Diet today, so fingers very tightly crossed, these figures start to come down.
