Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

8.9 fasting this morning...after bfast went to 6.8 and up to 8.2 before lunch?????? without having eaten anything!!!!

Claudette, mine does that - GP explained that it's going back to the level your body THINKS it's happy with, which is why it can take a while to retrain it.

Mine was 10.9 this morning, but I had an issue with my evening tablet timing, so hopefully back below 10 shortly :)

Mine are between 25/30, I am taking insulin all though classed type2 I am taking 810 units of Levemir and 100 of Novorapid a day up to 15-20 injections a day with no results the only thing that got mine down was a stay in hospital on an insulin pump but as a type2 I cant have one.

I AM insulin resistant in the true sense, now my sight is affected.

8.9 this morning as well.
i am doing a bit of an experiment. for the last two nights i have had a couple of oatcakes between 30 mins and 1hr of sleeping. the pre bed reading will be a bit higher than usual, but the fasting one has been 8.9 the last couple of days.

i have no idea whether this is because i am putting carbs in my body so by themorning the liver thinks it does not have to dump alot of glucose.

maybe the clever guys here can advise whether there is some science to this!!!!

well i ll keep doing it for a few days and see what happens...

my readings range between 10 and12 most mornigs, and i take 50 units of insulin befor bed time.
Some thing wrong would you not say :(

4.9 this morning, and for the last 2 days. I had a little "mishap" last week :oops: and achieved a 6 :shock: - first for many weeks! I'm being good again now, though :angel:

8.5 this morning!!! quite pleased... had my 2 oat cakes before i slept.
also yesterday after dinner i was at 4.9!!!! by then the effects of the zumba had kicked in!! quite pleased if i may say so!

Last night before bed (after my oat cakes) i was 6.3. At 3:30 am i was 6.1. At 7am i was 7.7 which is the lowest i have had for fasting. after breakfast i was 5.2.

Anyone ever feel like their arms and legs are really tired and heavy. been feeling like this t
the last couple of days.

happy with a 5.4 this morning even thought this is higher than normal am on steroids for the next couple of weeks so think this higher reading is due to that as eaten less yesterday than i normally do

Well done Claudette :clap: :clap: -- you're on a roll. We seem to have swapped places. My daytime levels are OK but for some reason my fasting levels are sailing into the 8s and I'm damned if I know why. Let me know when you want to swap back! (if arm and leg symptoms persist for a long you could always mention them to your GP -- you might need a vitamin boost).

Am very happy levels are coming down again now at 5.2 this morning only 4 more days of the steroids i hope so may be all over the place again end of next week :D :D

The last couple of days i have woken up at 7.9 and 7.1 :) :) :)

i have been seeing readings in the 4's and 5's so am not going to complain :)

5.5 this morning. :( I didn't eat last evening 'cos I wasn't hungry - maybe that had something to do with it!
