am looking into low carb foodstuffs however i have checked the local stores near me and not many do low carb stuff I did go to sainsborys yesterday to see if they had some of the low carb bread but the baker there said he never heard of it lol so i bought some soya bread to see how that goes at the mo am just looking at the low carb diet

Patsy, all supermarkets sell low carb stuff. Look in the vegetable aisles, the butcher, the dairy, the fish monger, and so on. Try not having cereal or bread for breakfast to start with. Have a plain yogurt and add a few berries, or scrambled egg, or bacon and egg. Give it a try and see what happens.

will do although my hubby so set in his ways ...he thinks eh knows best and whats best for me laughs anyways just took my levels and it is 7.4.

5.6 today. Did not test immediately, pottered about getting ready for today's tattoo appointment. Bit p**sed off after yesterday 4.6. Had a 7.1 yesterday after 15k on the bike and then eating. Really high for me, washed my hands and re tested 5.8. Must have got something on them that interfered with reading when preparing my salad and chicken? Strange couple of days!!

Gaz - Don't get too hung up on your readings being absolutely rock steady, because they don't know the rules! Sometimes, an odd reading happens for no apparent reason, and to be honest, you just have to shrug your shoulders, record it and move on. But, that is exactly when your records are important. When I have a rogue reading, I tend to look back through my scores to see when I last had a score like it, then I look to see what I had eaten, and consider if there's any link. Often there isn't, but just sometimes you might find there is a set of circumstances that just nudges things up (or down) a bit.

As T2s, we shouldn't be panicking over our readings, provided our trends are as we might, reasonably expect. Over time you will build enough data to provide a bit of a reference data bank. I was diagnosed in October, and although I probably test a little less than I did at my peak, I still record every test I take, and everything I eat or drink. Having been using myfitnesspal since January, I have a decent database of things I eat and drink, so it takes no time at all to update it.

You seem to have great support from your HCPs, in that they are supporting very regular HbA1cs, so you are getting excellent monthly benchmark figures. Don't be too hard on yourself.

4.4 for me this morning, so almost at the top of my personal range. I knew it would be around there because I had ate very late last night, with a protein heavy meal at that.

Circumstances took over yesterday afternoon, with my plans shelved in favour of sourcing and ordering a car part to send to Paradise by Fed-Ex on Monday, when it arrives at the dealership. Just sometimes Paradise has some extreme drawbacks. Paradise dealership order lead time; 3 or 4 weeks, maybe. If not, longer. UK dealership lead time; overnight, by 09:30 next day. Adding the £100 to send the part Fed-Ex makes this option a bit more expensive, but the part is required sooner than 3 or 4 weeks, which probably means longer.

Anyway. I know where I will be Monday morning!

So, today will be devoted to gardening, and cleaning a patio. I'm sure that'll fill my exercise quota.

Ok.........think my liver deciding to demoralise me today...........6.8 on waking at 8am, an hour later than normal!! Went to bed at midnight on 5.7!! Maybe today I need to not think about it too much or let it bring me down after over 7 weeks being on top of it !!

5.7 today after I'd been up and about for an hour. Been eating lighter evening meals and extra Metformin in morning so one or both of them seem to be helping. Or it could be the weight loss.

Back in the mid-5s this week. Went in to the lab yesterday morning for a fasting test. Early morning home test showed me at 5.3, fingers crossed that similar results show up when I see my Dr. in just over a week. As a small pre-expected (somewhat hopefull) celebration of eating well this past week and good home test results, Dinner last night was spicy hot chicken wings dripping in extra hot sauce.

5.8 this morning, back where it should be at the moment. Trying not to think it's just because of having two glasses of red wine last night. I know, it's the weekend!

5.5 - also got to the 17% weight loss figure this morning, we'll see if that's significant for me too.

well today not been too bad had huge omolette and lunch with bacon and mushrooms and my levels was 6.1 afterwards , i had salad and chicken plus a potatoe for tea and levesl are 5.3 woohoo
