5.4 this morning, I'm almost certain my higher readings of late is due in part to stress...
1000 lines "I must try extra hard not to worry about things I have no control over"
If you put to much effort in that could be stressful!

I wonder if you perhaps slightly mire than parboil them and drain well before cooking? I'm actually far better with the carvery roasties which have obvs been deep fat roasted (and therefore absolutely delicious) cos the cooking oils have seeped well into the spuds mmmmmm dunno abt coconut roasties tho ;) tastewise that is....
Can't do the oil thing... It's the double and triple cooking that does the carb breakdown I think... I'll keep you up to speed on it when I get back... I like my roasties done in goose fat personally.., :)

15.4 with accu chek meter
12.7 with codefree meter

WOW - your Liver works twice as effective as your Pancreas doesn't!

What do your Health Care Providers make of these morning readings?

Hope you find a solution.

I was wondering... It's like telling yourself not to breathe... :( Note to self: STOP WORRYING SO MUCH... :) I hope it all levels out for you soon...

Hm, 6.0 this morning. I did have a small roast potato and roast sweet potato with my Sunday roast yesterday with the intention of testing after dinner, so 5.1 before but by the time I remembered I had to test again it was 3 hours past :( Just today left on the diet as tomorrow I will be on a jet plane (actually three different ones and a total of 16 hours in the air!).

Ideal period to try a fast?
Hope you're flights are safe and enjoyable.

This morning 16.2
Crumbs... Keep at it... It's s blip.., tomorrow is another day... That's what the guys on this forum say... :)

Good thought, but it's impossible to sit for so many hours with idle feet and hands and a rumbling tummy.. Trust me... Better to prepare for it as best you can... :)

5.5 am after 6.0 last night, bit of a rise 2 hours after brekkie.... had two prunes......
Sun is out and should have a good walk at lunchtime...
Hope all is good with you.

It's so frustrating when you've been so good, isn't it? :) The guys here keep saying that evening exercise helps - one hour after eating? I just cannot seem to bring myself to cook, wash up, tidy up the left-overs AND go walkies on my machine when I'm still quite full... :( Besides wanting to catch up with the Rugby/Tennis/Formula 1 - or crime drama I've missed... :) I'm sure I should though... :shifty:

Set your walking machine up so you can walk and catch up with your programs - or walk on the spot in front of the TV? ;)

I'm guessing its oil cos they do a meatfree option (just no meat) presumably for vegetarians that enjoy the rest ...... I thought with the pasta it,was a case of "washing out" the starch via the cooking process rather than breaking it down....

@vit90 i usually use the codefree meter but am using the accu chek meter and my readings are higher
i have mentioned to my DN nurse and she said don,t worry as its a liver dump
i don,t feel ill

OK, what are your readings like later in the day, say before lunch ore dinner?

I will have supper tonight around 7PM and won't eat again until they feed me on the plane around 1PM, so that's 18 hours and is my current routine as am following advice to keep all meals within a 6-hour period. Apparently this keeps blood sugar to a minimum for the longest practical period in a day and so should aid an improvement in insulin sensitivity. My tum doesn't grumble that much - I just have this patient 'hollow' feeling :)

That's what I do during the day... can't do it at night too.... no tv in the bedroom, I velcro my iPhone to the front of the machine, or my iPad, and watch, or listen to Radio 5 Live, or an audio book... still don't want to do it after I've stood and cooked, cleaned and tupperware'd.. :)

3.4 this morning. That's the lowest reading I have had. Probably as a result of the tough 10K race yesterday.

Feeling OK? A non-diabetic might be feeling peckish with a BG at this level but probably not unwell. Any lower than that though and I guess maybe not feeling so good.

Ahhhh... find I do not know what the process it.. darn it.. I'll have to research it now... :(
