Had salad contained lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions and cucumber +two thin slices of beef. Blood is now 15.9.

To understand this we really need to know what your BG level was to start with, or at least to know what it normally settles to during the day between meals. I can't see anything in your meal that would cause a big spike - was there a dressing or a beverage we don't know about?

Metformin 1000 Prolonged release (1 with evening meal) I don't add dressings and diet is unchanged.Testing my blood with 2 different testers.
1Nexus GlucoRx
2 Codefree

I would definitely keep a food diary for a few days and see if there is anything you are perhaps eating that's high in carbs. When are you due to see your gp/diabetic specialist again?

I'm following an expert diabetes specialist (and medical doctor) whose advice is to encapsulate meals into a six hour period. No offence intended but I am highly motivated to reverse the condition rather than follow the tired old advice that sees some T2s ending up on insulin. Things are not going too well at the moment but I blame myself for that, not anyone else.
Be interesting to know if your expert differs from the experts on this site like a great many doctors nurses and specialists seem to do.

Today is my starting point to get refocused, I read your responses and thought, Oh no I'm not posting mine ! But I have to start somewhere, fasting 10.1 welcome any positive comments
We all have to start somewhere and it feels so good when you start to see those figures coming down and staying down. You will get lots of help and support off here. Every one of us has felt the same at some stage, and almost every one of us has gone off track at some point and found our way back on it, some of us may have taken the scenic route back to that track but we found it again eventually so don't beat yourself up for the occasional slip, just draw a line under it and carry on. Use this forum for help and advice or just to blow off steam, I guarantee you will get lots of support from all the other members

Oops 7.0 this morning almost unheard of for me but that's what late evening pizza and chips does for you. Didn't finish work til 9.00pm, had hardly any lunch and got tempted from the dark side. Absolutely no carbs for me today and another long day lies ahead. Got to be an easier way to earn a living
