Anonymous question submitted:

My blood sugars have been uncontrollably high for a week now. I have tried everything from changing injection sites, using a new pen, fasting etc. I have significantly increased my insulin and lantus doses but there is little improvement in my sugar levels. They range from 7 at best to 17 at worst but are averaging at about 13 - 15 most of the time.. Has this happened to anyone before and do you have any advice on how to help solve this problem?

Make sure your fridge is at right temperature, and change the cartridges too.

Basal testing, over a full 24 hours, the more data the better...............

if you need more, you need more..........

obviously malfunctioning insulin delivery, dodgy insulin, dodgy injection sites, should all be considered.................if it is one of these, then at least you can do a long overdue basal check....;)
