*stupid EXPENSIVE thing
You quite often get a scan error if you scan too quickly after start up (the 1 hr countdown). I found it was better to insert the sensor and wait a couple of days before activating as it needs time to settle. The 1st sensor I waited a day to activate it and I still got a day of weird readings before it settled. Try scanning again, don't be put off if you get odd readings for a couple of days and if it still telling you it is a faulty sensor phone their customer services - they replace faulty sensors no problem.*stupid EXPENSIVE thing
Ok here's the thing.
I've lost 3 stone stopped my Metformin 4 weeks ago and saw my bloods drop so that my fasting bloods always started with a 5.
This week all my fasting readings have started with a 6 and some high 6's.
My diet and exercise has remained the same. I have been a bit stressed with work...
So why ??? Thoughts please

Now that you mention it . I have started using new strips ... hmmmmAre your other readings affected too? Only all my readings of 5s with occasional 6s suddenly switched some weeks ago to 6s with occasional 5s, then last week switched back again. It then dawned on me that the changes coincided with different batches of testing strips. I posted here about it and others have noticed the same.
It was when I had a faulty sensor and phoned customer services. He asked how long I had had it attached and when I said less than 24 hours he told be to phone back if it still didn't work right after 24 hours. Why doesn't it say that anywhere? It says wait an hour and then the app told me it was ready to scan. Stupid thing

I use a codefree machine

I just got a code free cos it's cheaper - and it measures a whole mmol higher than my nexus!! Which is right?Mine is a code fee too!
To an extent it doesn't matter. The one you settle on and use long term is what counts, as you are able to see variance on that device. My One Touch Select Plus, tracks with my surgeries unit, so I use this, my Accu Chek Mobile tracks about 0.5 mmol higher and my Libre for example gave me a FBG of 3.1, when the actual was 4.3. I use the Libre to mainly track the impact of different foods and exercise.I just got a code free cos it's cheaper - and it measures a whole mmol higher than my nexus!! Which is right?![]()

True, but I'm still trying too get down to acceptable levels, rather than monitoring and maintaining, so the accurate reading is quite important to me at the moment. My official hba1c was lower than estimated by results from the nexus, so that makes me think it's the more accurate. Will tick with that for the moment and keep the other one in the car for when I'm out !To an extent it doesn't matter. I think I'll continue with the nexus until I'm stabilised and then, move on to the code free for long term use as it's cheaper!I think I'll stick with my Code Free, then my actual HbA1c may be lower than the app Mysugr predicts, based on the Code Free readings, making for a nice surprise!![]()
I contacted libre via the website and they sent me an email within a few hours asking details of the errors etc. Then emailed back to say they were sending a new one! Pretty good customer service I'd say. It's been over 24 hours since I stuck it on and now the app is telling me that's it's expired, which I thought was rather dramatic! It was when I had a faulty sensor and phoned customer services. He asked how long I had had it attached and when I said less than 24 hours he told be to phone back if it still didn't work right after 24 hours.
Talking to other people with Libres I learned about the settling down period. I can't remember reading it anywhere.
I had a "suicide" sensor about 6 weeks ago. It worked for 7 days but they still happily replaced it. They may also send you a return bag to send the faulty one back to them.I contacted libre via the website and they sent me an email within a few hours asking details of the errors etc. Then emailed back to say they were sending a new one! Yes they are pretty good but you have to remember that the gadget costs £50 and if it were a kitchen gadget we would go straight back to the shop with it. As I said in another post the only thing that happened to me was when he asked me to phone back after the 24 hours settling in period. These days I attach it and don't even start it until it has been there for a whole day.I contacted libre via the website and they sent me an email within a few hours asking details of the errors etc. Then emailed back to say they were sending a new one! Just to double check....So do you mean you attach it and not "link' it to the app for at least 24hrs?Yes they are pretty good but you have to remember that the gadget costs £50 and if it were a kitchen gadget we would go straight back to the shop with it. Thanks, I only ordered one initially as I wasn't sure my skin would accept it, so I'll have to wait until the replacement arrives!I had a "suicide" sensor about 6 weeks ago. If you have another sensor apply it and remember to give it at least 1 day to settle before you activate it.

I don't use the app I have a scanner but yes, I attach it and leave it for 24 hours before I start it. Since I have been doing that I have had no trouble and the readings compare well with my Freestyle Lite.Just to double check....So do you mean you attach it and not "link' it to the app for at least 24hrs?
