I haven't thought of having it removed lol just get asked by others if it's possible. I agree no point in removing it if it's doing no damage and like I said, I'm holding onto it just incase
hope you are well

I asked when I had my hysterectomy done 20 years ago for them to take out pancreas and anything else that didn't work. They didn't....
Hmmm I wonder then if we really benefit from leaving it inside of us? I only say this as a few years back my nan had cancer and had a tumour removed from her stomach and along with that they removed appendix and a few other bits that I suppose weren't deemed as necessary!
I only have one third of my pancreas, the head, I had it removed 7 yrs ago along with my spleen because of a, luckily, pre cancerous tumour. It's no laughing matter as a previous poster has mentioned, the pancreas does more than produce insulin, or not in our cases, it also produced digestive enzymes, I also take lots of enzyme supplements with food otherwise I would spend most of my day on the loo. TMI! I wasn't diagnose diabetic until 3 yrs later, treat with tablets, just had to start insulin as there is no way of knowing how much insulin my wee bit produces. I often wish they had taken the lot out as I worry about a recurrence of a tumour and I may not be as lucky the next time, but I know you are better with a one (or part of a one) even if it is a bit dodgy! Also, I wouldn't put my worst enemy through the op or recovery or the horrendous scar it leaves.I haven't thought of having it removed lol just get asked by others if it's possible.
