Victoza 0.6

Just wondering if anyone has stayed on the 0.6 dosage maybe due to bad side effects when increasing to the higher dose and if they still find benefits on this dosage. I realise 0.6 is meant as an introductory dose only but just wondered. I have only been on Victza for 3 weeks but side effects of the 1 .2 dose are making me think of quitting

Hi and welcome. Can I ask whether you are currently having a low-carb diet? Victoza is often offered to those who have excess weight and this can result from poor NHS diet advice. Let me know if you want me to expand on the diet aspect. I'm afraid I have no experience of using Victoza.

Thanks for your reply. I live in France and am newly diagnosed and spent the week before Christmas in a specialist diabetic
unit being ' re- educated ' . The diet advice here seems very different from what I have read on the forum and carbs are part of the recommended daily diet. I do ned to lose. Some excess weight and apparently hence the Victoza . I also have 2 x 500 metformin and 1 diazinon but am yo young like mad at the moment.

Hi. Sounds like the French are as mis-informed about diabetes diets as the UK is; must be some sort of global conspiracy by the food industry. Do have a low-carb diet and you will find you will reduce both weight and blood sugar. Metformin only ever has a small effect on blood sugar. Did you really mean Diazinon as it's an organic pesticide! Perhaps you meant Diamicron?

Hi to all,

Iam waiting to be sent for Victoza Injections so this is the starting dose who long does it take for Appointment to come through do you need to go to diabetes clinic every week for this to be changed.
