Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Feeling a little deflated this morning, Sundays are my chosen in weigh in day, I'd weighed myself early this week because I was excited to see what was happening. So between now and then I've gained 2.3kgs it seems.

Not sure what I've done wrong tbh, apart from the zero calories fruit creations squash with my meals I haven't cheated once.

Everything is cooked from scratch in this house, the fiancée loves to cook properly and sticks to low carb recipes and I'm still only eating a fraction of what I did pre diagnosis.

Hoping its just a blip.
What are your bgs saying. I only lose weight if my bgs are good as well as low carbing. If spiking... eliminate those foods too.

Weighed myself on Friday and I was 122.60kgs. I think the lowest I've been for 5yrs.
Sooooo looking 4ward to next Friday weigh-in.
Not seeing bariatric Unit til end of July for a weigh in.
Will use GP health service til then. They are very supportive.
I hv before and continuing after pics but I want to wait til I'm my ideal weight.

I'm 121.80kgs this morning :) :) :) Using gallstones prevention med which makes me loose but no alternative med. I think it's the lime in it. I dont agree with citrus fruits anymore.

I'm 120.90kgs this morning. So nearly 2kgs off since last Friday.
I'm terrified I will stop losing.
But celebrating so far. :) :) :)

On the cusp of jointing the 18stones and out of the 19s. :)

Sorry for not replying sooner, I've had a rough couple of weeks. Another infection in my leg and now have to get more surgery.

I'm not on insulin.

My weight loss got stuck around the 195"kg mark for about 2 weeks. However I had a liver function test and was told there's been a massive difference in both markers and am now nearly in the healthy range for both. Think she said I'm 75 on one and below 75 is considered normal.

Anyway weighed myself again today and I'm now at 191.8kgs. Still a long way to go but I'm 4 stone lighter than when I started so I'm super pleased.

I don't self test yet, I am sick to death of needles and getting poked and pricked.
Why test your BG? - Because we are all have different responses to carbs in different forms. I get a bad BG reaction to Carrots, but I am OK with a few berries with cream while others are fine with Carrots, but may not be with even a few berries.
You need to know which foods affect your BG the most.
If you can stand having similar food every day (I always have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast), then you don't need to test too often : before each new meal and 2hrs after first bite.

Since you are T2D on metformin and trying a LCHF diet, I strongly suggest that you get a BG meter ( either a CodeFree or a Tee2 - both have cheap testing strips), because your aim should be to control your Diabetes as well as losing weight. And like they say in engineering: 'If you can't measure it, you can't improve it!'

Not sure if a wanting to maintain or gain belongs in this group?

Since diagnosis have lost, over two stone, and am now well into underweight for my height.

Hi SlimLizzy,
I have absolutely no personal experience here, but I have spent some time looking around the Forum about haltingg the LCHF weight loss phase.
If you are on 100grans of carbs per day, you are nowhere near ultra low, so may need to be careful about adding more carbs to gain weight/stop weight loss. Thus the choices are : increase protein, increase fat , or some of both.

There is a thread about Women (of menopausal age) finding it harder to lose weight on a LCHF diet. In there is a link to a Podcast by 'the fat emperor' about how women to whom that applies should probably go more Low Carb High Protein than Low Carb High Fat.

Still losing :) :) :)
119.20kgs this morning. :) so lost 1.7kgs this week. Which is 3.75lb loss.
Beats only losing 1lb a week if I was lucky pre Op.
Soooooo happy !!!!

Edited to note: averaging in 7s throughout the day on both insulins.
