What’s happened to the forum?

All the emojis we had before are still there.
They are under the smiley in the header for your comment.
If you have a small screen, you may need to click on the ":" to get more options including the emojis
 
Cheers but the entire top line is missing.
As is all the rest of formatting..

I realise, looking back i come across as curt & not the funny guy I thought I was.

By way of an apology here's the problem I face my end, for clarity .

Do you use the app or your browser?
On browser click/tap the 3 dots on the right side of the icons on the left above the post you're writing (if that makes sense) and a second row of icons will appear, including one for the emojis!

If you notice.
"No emojis ' screenshot is just the one line, but each option is greyed out and non available

Still greyed out and no formatting or pics or emojis available.

I know people are trying to help, honestly I do.
But if anyone looked at previous post since update (this thread would a good start) I found and used emojis etc happily.

I HAVE found work arounds.
I upload pics via the lower 'attach files'
YouTube luckily i caN paste links in directly.

But emojis is a no go

Note only the right hand icon is 'lit' and available

May have to use another site for emojis, add them to my posts that I create under word etc, then copy and paste in here....but it's looong

But on our little thread it is what some do to circumnavigate the ongoing issues of posting 'ERROR'

If I could click & use or open any of the format bar I honestly wouldn't be posting it as an issue.

Like I said , not my first rodeo.

(Ooh old school emojis just offered me two emoji choices underneath the wording bottom left of my post in edit form.. but didn't work for the 'wink'...curious...mmmhh )

 
We seem to have a return of the spammers from the Far East that used to plague the forum many years ago, they had all but disappeared but seem to be back on a daily basis since the upgrade, they are a nuisance and not as bad as in the past where they could fill up at the least the first 3 pages but still annoying. Are admin addressing this?

At the moment I click on the name and put them on ignore then re click on new posts at the top, gets rid of them pretty quickly

Hopefully you report them too! They were around before the upgrade too - as an early bird I get to see them very often!

Do you know why this forum gets so many of them whereas I never see them in other fora I am a member of?
I appreciate it could be that other fora have even earlier birds but I suspect they are using a spam blocker. Is this something our wonderful admin could investigate?
And, yes, I do mean "wonderful". It is not sarcastic. I am really pleased with the work they have done to bring the forum into this century and realise upgrades always uncover gremlins that they have squashed quickly.

But the spamming remains so I hope this can be addressed.
 
It looked like a blocker was successfully installed shortly before the forum changes, as the spamming did stop for a short while, but it doesn't seem to have made the change to the new format.

Tech team is aware.

There were more than usual this morning because mods were sleeping after yesterday's wonderful meal out with the team!
Usually the late night mods, early birds and antipodes catch them before the UK starts waking up at large.

And @jjraak ,I'm baffled with your emoji issue.
Hopefully someone more tech savvy than I am can shed a light on this.

Hmm I have emojis , on phone and computer...
Edited to add , sorry I should have read to end before posting, I hope this issue gets fixed for you as the tech team work through the bugs....

Yes, admins etc on case .
Just running out of thing to do my end
Logged in and out of phone, forum & chrome.
Might try another browser, see if that shakes anything up , before techies get to fixing it.

You are not the only one who has found it difficult. I promise, I did too.
 
This messing up of the notifications is really annoying me now. It’s actually got worse as it wasn’t happening when the update was first done. It’s now a memory feat of which ones I’ve read and haven’t as the notification are useless. Anyone got any ideas?
