Try changing the style under your profile under preferences. One should work on whatever device you are using.Well I’ve been away a few days. And I think I’m going to stay away. This is a mess right now and no guidance as to the changes made either. I think this “update” is going to lose a lot of regular posters
I’m a web user, not app, on an iPad and using whatever the default setting is, as I always have. Why should such a common format need to be messed around with by the user just to make it work how it always has.Try changing the style under your profile under preferences. I'm using chrome on an android tablet. And UI.X seems to work for me.
Maybe it's the app users having more trouble.
I agree, late Friday afternoon is not a good time to implement an unannounced undocumented change.
Do these colour schemes take account of known specific user needs, e.g. colour blindness, or partial sight?...
In terms of colours - there are now 3 themes - default, UI.X and UI.X Dark - with the latter offering a dark mode.
We will update any remaining colours on Monday.
sorry you & so many are having difficulties.I’m a web user, not app, on an iPad and using whatever the default setting is, as I always have. Why should such a common format need to be messed around with by the user just to make it work how it always has.
The lack of member info as to type or medication, number of posts, response of other members to their posts, limited emoji responses, huge signatures I can’t apparently shorten, toggles no toggles, repeated password resets are all too much right now. I’ll come back in a week or so and see if it’s sorted and has some sort of documentation of the changes etc but for a site I’ve been happily using for years to become so tricky to use overnight isn’t a good thing Imo.
I do not log out on my devices, the only time I have to login is when Android and Chrome have done some house cleaning. I just have the forum bookmarked not the attrocious red front page all though I met that this morning.Which may in some case cause errors when logging in again, maybe.?
Yes! Where’s the Button for going to Bottom of the Page?Very happy to see the forum software get up to date with version 2.0x that has been out for the last four or five years.
A silly oneAlso, due to my poor eyesight I've tried increasing font size to large, but it makes no difference, stays medium no matter what I do (android tablet)
In checking yours I noticed my alerts have a small empty circle by the side. When I look at the alerts page I can no longer determine which alerts are recent/ unread and which ones I have read previous. The bar indicator is missing. Please send out search parties.
Why assume that older uses have issues using technology?Fwiw I prefer the new layout.
It clearly uses the same platform as other fora so it is familiar to navigate and very easy to ignore members if I want to.
I use the What’s New tab most of the time and the only addition I would love is the ability to ignore threads. But that is a very small gripe.
Of course there will be a few snags to iron out as the developers get used to this new platform .. and the older users get used to something different.
I am very very glad to see that diabetes.co.uk forum has made it into the 21st century.
Thanks you for finally investing into this valuable resource (well, valuable for the users if not DMM), @Administrator
I think its the long signatures that you are seeing. If you change to a "style" that toggles them off, it's much easier to use.Mine is red, but I am finding it harder to follow the actual posts now. It has a lot of other info under the someone's posts, so you almost have to hunt for what the new posting is? It was easier to distinguish peoples actual posts before. (smaller text before?) I could also scroll up to the one I was responding to so I could see it when I was typing. Now the post I am working on almost takes up the whole page. I do not think I like it. Sorry, but It feels like it's not an improvement.
I'm in a tablet and I can either scroll up and down, or touching the screen somewhere on the right hand side brings up 2 up and down arrows at the bottom right and they go up and down the page.Where’s the Go To Bottom of Page Button? I’ve using this all the time. Where is it?
Yes I did, and tried logging in and out again. Eventually I've sort of got there. Some text is big, when I type for example. Some is still too smallA silly one
And sure You have BUT did you press SAVE when you made changes ?
Only asking as popping in & out to try the different 'modes' & ' themes ' I forgot a few times...simply because I think I expected just selecting a 'deault ' or font size to be enough...oh how I laughed when I spotted my error
You can get it if you switch to UI.X mode - unlike default mode it has up and down buttons. In fact that mode seems to have the most functionality but it’s a horrid colour scheme. @Administrator could UI.X have a red colour scheme and the diabetes.co.uk logo?Where’s the Go To Bottom of Page Button? I’ve using this all the time. Where is it?
