What are your eating times, do times matter? I think they do for me

Hi all

I am doing so well on LCHF. I'm having to break the habit of regular eating. Society norms are to eat first thing in the morning, but I can't. I don't feel hungry, but just to get something in me I'll have bulletproof tea - just to help me relax and a few salt and vinegar peanuts.

My next meal is whenever I am hungry, but I make sure I stop eating by 7pm. I find eating well before bed time helps me feel relaxed, and I don't think it's normal to even eat just before bed? I know we all have nights out and stuff that means we eat at crazy times.

Has anyone else noticed that timing is important for them to keep their glucose levels on track?

Yes, that's me!
My dietary needs are unusual, as are the need to not eat, is as important.
I regularly use intermittent fasting, very low carb and using a small window in the day to get my nutrition, but even that is adaptable.
If you can tolerate the fasting and missing meals then, there is no real reason to eat continually through the day. If you can! I must stress that! If you can!

The reason why I have control, is because I'm always using a Keto diet and my blood sugar levels are always in normal range.

If one meal a day as close to 16:00 as possible. If 2 meals around 11.30 then around 16:00, unless business networking. I try give a much time before the circadian rhythm sets in around 21:00, and in case I am going to do a workout.

Generally speaking we are more insulin resistant in the a.m than in the p.m. so I try to have a very, very low carb first meal of the day. I am not a creature of habit but I take food dependant (non Diabetes related) drugs so although I am never hungry in the morning I must eat hence very low carb. I eat my second meal of the day quite late compared to others but this has been a lifetime habit and it suits me.

I don't usually eat breakfast. I just have coffee. I don't feel like eating anything until around midday, and then only something light like a couple of poached eggs with one slice of wholemeal toast.
At 4pm I usually have a cup of tea (or hot chocolate at present) and a couple of Rich Tea biscuits, or a slice of grilled cheese on wholemeal toast.
My main meal is around 7pm. As I have had very few carbs during the day I feel I can allow myself some rice, potatoes or pasta, though only a half or third of what I used to eat. And I can have a bit of dessert too. But the evening meal would be less than 100g of carbs.
I don't eat if I'm not hungry, though sometimes I might have a bit of cheese or some nuts as a snack, more because I'm a bit bored and it's something to do.

Like @Guzzler I take a med, twice a day, which requires fat and protein to do its best at preserving my life. So I do eat breakfast, have always enjoyed it, and have no idea if I could substitute high octane bulletproof with a little decaf added just as a trial. Problem with that is, since I’ve already cut out lunch (mostly), that would leave me only one meal to get alot of micronutrients. This med also ideally is taken at 12 hr intervals. I’ve been given permission to make that 9+15, but that makes me a little nervous. 10+14 is fairly standard. I eat breakfast whenever I get up, and my drop-dead time to stop eating is 7:30pm but I aim for 7:00. It’s all in the “whatever I’m scheduled for” so I can’t always start at 6:00, and it does take me an hour to prepare and eat a supper. Time fasting does i deed matter to me. I am 7 months in, and not having miraculous results as some do, but I know I’m below 50 carbs and sometimes 30 or thereabouts. I keep trying! Cheese and almond butter are my current bedevilments!

Yes I keep my first meal at noon and then I eat till 8pm when I feel the need and intermittent fast to the next day and so on.

It work really well to fix my cravings and help me with fat loss.

A long term low carb diet tends to keep my levels stable and me less hungry, but I do sometimes see a gradual reduction in levels over the day.

My number of meals and their times tend to vary depending on hunger or lack of it , but my evening meal will be the most regular (mainly habit and convenience) - generally around 7pm but sometimes a bit earlier or maybe up to 2 hours later. And I will eat in the middle of the night if that's when I feel the need to. ( I have a slightly erratic body clock...):wacky:
