"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Well ... I am still in my pjs having a very lazy Friday ... didn't actually realise the time ... will be going for a shower/pamper shortly. I had a busy day off work yesterday ... housework, washing, checking in on my mum, paid some bills and fitted in a nice walk as it was a nice dry day which I will probably do again today. I am making the most of today as I am back to work at 6am tomorrow ...

Food wise I have no idea what I will have for my dinner tonight, eh?
 
I still prefer/use a small diary for my handbag too

Thing about Cream Supplies is I usually add "a few bits" to whatever it is I really want (note, I didn't say need), because it makes it cheaper on delivery.

My logic may be Irish, even if I'm not.

@ianpspurs crossing fingers that the new firm work out for you. I notice that they just deliver on one day to keep tabs on the freshness of their produce which sounds like a good idea given mouldgate experiences! Lets hope it is as promising as it sounds we look forward to your comments. I have a love of Wales and BIL and partner live there - missing being able to visit as we are very near the border country!

Erm,.....I'm a bit confused by your post, or maybe my post confused you?

Cream Supplies isn't new to me. I have used them in the past (initially to buy my Soda Splash), and they're really good to get on with, if not necessarily the absolutely cheapest around.
 
@ianpspurs - you are least made me smile! Masterchef Maglil - just so long as I'm not mistaken for the one who was edited out for an unknown reason earlier this week.
All is not well here though. Turns out they now reckon my brother's 2 brain leisons are indeed cancer. They're secondaries, small but currently they don't know from where. I've been chatting to him and he's perfectly lucid apart from is it Friday or Saturday today (even I do that sometimes). We don't have a prognosis yet but my nephew told me they're talking about radiotherapy. So it's very much wait and see.
I can't help wondering though if his cancer checkups hadn't been virtual would they have caught this any quicker?
I'm reasonably OK. Will probably catch up later once the boys are home to distract myself.

Ah, makes sense now. Julie unsurprisingly has a love of Wales since her dad was from there. I decidedly don't. In terms of this bread, I noticed one could have the whole loaf delivered frozen - didn't see that option for sliced - which should avoid #mouldgate. Oh, just realised, no E taste after lunch today with defrosted SLC roll. Marmite could be a masking flavour

Oh Maglil, that's horrible news. I hope and pray that your brother's lesions can be treated, that they find the original site and that the future is much brighter for him and you.

I try not to buy anything a don't need - even if it is to reduce the shared cost of carriage. I'd rather order multiples of what I do want to share the cost over, say 3 of the same thing. That's what I did this time.

I hope so too. He had lung cancer 2 years ago but they said they'd found it early and they were confident they'd got it all with the surgery. They are speaking to the lung cancer specialists but they're not confirming at the moment that's the source. I know a brain secondary is quite common following lung cancer. I'm reassuring myself that it's taken more than 2 years, they are small leisons and they are discussing treatment options. Favoured one under discussion is targetted radiotherapy at the moment. We had a long chat today about best way to deal with the limb weakness (mainly because I can relate to the problems but for different reasons).
I think the waiting is worse than anything to find out the prognosis. His daughter, son il and granddaughter are heading up from Manchester tomorrow. They've been getting their tests to make sure they are no longer infected (they were diagnosed 6 weeks ago and are clear). Even the wee one has been tested. I've been reassuring her too that there are options. We just have to wait on the grading.
I wonder what I've done to have my Mum and all my siblings fall victim to different cancers?
 
So so sorry for you and your family - very bad luck take care of yourself in these difficult and stressful times big big virtual hugs on the way to you. Don’t know about you but I’m so missing real proper bear hugs from my family. I’m a big hugger and my autistic adult eldest seems to prefer the fact I don’t rush to hug him but I miss it and think his recent really steep downhill trend hasn’t been at all helped by his total lack of any human touch so sad.
 
I've just had an issue with my DGF cake order. They spent the last 5 days in Peterborough sorting office. Finally arrived today but 5 days without refrigeration doesn't do LC baking any favours. I'd been chatting with them online since Wednesday and, a full replacement order went out today. Only trouble is it currently has reached Peterborough sorting office! Here's hoping it is Tracked 24 this time not Tracked 120.
 

Neil, who has Asperger's, has been unwilling to hug all his life. Even as a small child, he was all elbows and knees to ward off people who tried to hug him. I used to insist, but stopped when he was in his teen because I realised that it distressed him. We didn't know about Asperger's way back then and thought that he was quite uncaring. However, when his grandmother died, although quite calm and unemotional himself, we saw him hugging his cousin who was seriously distressed at losing her grandmother, we realised that he did care but was not able, for whatever reason, to express it, or receive it. I still could do with a hug, but have had very few since my husband became unable to express emotion some 20+ years ago. I've got used to it. Em helps and so does No 2 son, although, I have to ask him - it isn't spontaneous.
 
@Annb do you have any ancient Aztec in you? Liking your chocolate bitter like that.
Another word for us wordies: the word chocolate comes to us from Classical Nahuatl "Xocolātl, via Spanish. Bet that shows up in spelling bees!
@maglil55 thinking of you and brother...please know that you haven't "done" anything. Neither have they.
@shelley262 @Annb my 30-yr-old autistic son allowed his two grandmothers and allows one of his aunts to hug him but I'll bet I haven't touched him except to buzz his hair in over half his lifetime. He is not physically demonstrative and prefers it that way. He has a great handshake I think. I'm sorry yours is having a bad spot.
 

I also prefer my actual chocolate to be 100% - the last time I bought any it was from Montezumas and, although fine if you want to eat a little chocolate, seems very grainy if you try to make hot chocolate with it (my style, ie chocolate buttons and hot water). For some reason I have never tried making a savoury dish with it, although I keep thinking I should. I used to eat the kind of not-chocolate that we bought in the 50s and 60s (Cadbury's etc) but haven't really thought of that as chocolate for some time. I would probably still eat it as a "candy" if I could. But chocolate it isn't (in my opinion). Occasionally, Neil will have a tiny bit of 100% chocolate, but one little pack of it will last him a long, long time. Recently he bought some carob flakes, similar to normal chocolate - no added sugar obviously, but carob is pretty sweet anyway. Nice little treat, once in a while. I notice that it's not going down very fast.

I had thought that the language of the Aztecs had completely disappeared under the influence of Spanish, but I see that it is still spoken, perhaps in a modified form. Possibly, like gaelic, it is in danger of fading away. I hope not. It's sad to lose any part of humanity's culture - although I think we can probably do without the kind of terrorist activities that the Aztecs used to use. Same with some of the less pleasant aspects of gaeldom.

Neil doesn't even shake hands. Not his kind of thing. But he is overcoming some of his dislike of human company, now that he's in his 50s. Em has helped with that - not that she's allowed to hug him, but he did, once in a while, lift her up. Not now, of course, that she's a young lady. And once he actually accepted a hug from her - when she was about 2!
 
@zauberflote we sure do have Back Friday as my haul of Lyle and Scott golf sweaters and Levi Jeans will attest - I am no Naomi Klein when it comes to labels. I'm also no Montezumas or very high % chocolate fan (W1 apart). @Annb and @shelley262 and anyone else on the subject of hugs. There is certainly a generational difference. My boys, 34-28, are big on hugs (not atm obviously) - at first it phased me, no idea how to deal with it. My dad was so obviously uneasy with it and his dad would probably have whacked me/them. I think that change is to be admired. So far, the girls are hug machines. Outside Christmas lights, mobiles then the tree tonight. Generally an attempt to make this seem like my home today - brightened up house maybe. Braxton, self possessed little chap next door. complimented us on the wooden churches in our bay window. Top boy him.

Poor you hope replacement arrived? My Friday morning order arrived this morning! I was amazed just how quick it was hoping yours arrived too,
