What an interesting thought you raise that as we become older and wiser our previous shortcomings stand out. I have never thought about it like that before. That certainly encourages us to give our past selves some grace. I really appreciate this post @shelley262We do all feel like this - well I do. I also feel the older and possibly wiser you become the more your mistakes stand out. A psychologist friend once advised me about a very traumatic experience that happened to me as a child that had re-emergered because of the other traumas I was going through - to put that past experience into a metal box to which I had the key and to lock it up and just put the key away from now. I did that and rarely feel the need to find the key. Time passes and we need to know that it's human to feel this way and to be honest people who don't worry about mistakes and difficult or traumatic things they have experienced are maybe not people who we'd enjoy spending time with ?
