"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Just removed a post that I'd put in the wrong thread. Here, I should have reported:

Breakfast: pre-cooked and chilled oats with some freeze dried raspberry and milk. Still hungry so may have to have something else before I go out.

2nd meal: If Neil can get me some chicken thighs, it will be roast chicken and vegetables. If not, it will probably be pork sausages but I'd rather not have sausages again this week.

Cakes all baked and ready for frosting tomorrow morning. Just want to experiment with some oat muffins for the oat lady. Might make some oatcakes for her as well - she has them quite often and I know she enjoys them.

Another lovely sunny and productive day. Got shed sorted - over winter stuff tends to get dumped in there for a tip trip which of course didn't happen. So today got the rubbish to the tip and recycling centre. We can now get into our shed!
Also sowed all 10 different types of tomato seeds from my Mothers day mixed pack - will be interesting to see how many germinate. Hoping to sow Cosmos , peas and bean seeds tomorrow. I've got some mini propagators another gift so am trying to sow in all 10 propagators which will all live on our sunny conservatory windowsills.

I'm definitely on the mend, but as soon as I tried to do anything the aches came back and I felt poorly again, so I just got a couple of loads of washing done and then rested up. I sat outside for a bit too!

My appetite hasn't come back but I have had my chicken and vegetables for tea at the right time today, and didn't need to go and sleep in the afternoon so hopefully tomorrow will be even better.

Edit: the vegetables I'm using are the red russian kale and sprouting broccoli from my garden with a few of last summer's runner beans from the freezer.

Pleased that you are hopeful of being on the .mend. Winner for your home grown veggies.

First meal of the day was a Panda flour puffet eaten warm, sliced in half, with butter and two different very good cheeses my aunt gifted me as a birthday present. So birthday present on top of birthday present, thanks to @shelley262 for the Panda flour!
The puffets tasted very good, even if they didn't hit that bread spot, but I suppose only bread will hit that spot.
I made two puffets (1/3 of the recipe) to try it out and not waste precious flour. I left the second puffet for tonight, wanting to know how they are when eaten cold.
Evening meal was the second puffet sliced in half with celeriac mayo (grated raw celeriac, mayo, salt, pepper and this time some lemon juice and zest because I had half of an old and sorry looking lemon laying around). Very good combination with the puffets, and I had it with the last spicy filled peppers and olives I found forgotten in the fridge. :)

For tomorrow I want to use the Panda garlic and cheese protein thing recipe as a base for a cheese and onion bread, which I think will taste absolutely amazing. :hungry:

Scrolling through Facebook I encountered this song, which made me think of all you gardeners, @jpscloud and @shelley262 .

I love it :joyful:

And the celeriac mayo looks amazing, I might have to make some!
I love Jesse Welles for being one of our currently very much needed protest singers, but combining it with little songs like this. :)

And yes, try the celeriac mayo! Easy, cheap, and I always got it for breakfast with my grandmother as a child which is another reason to love it.

Wow, this virus or whatever it is, is a really wild ride! It's been new symptoms every day, and all quite severe. Today's delight is blocked ears and dizziness! My legs feel a bit weak and my cough is now not hurting but quite productive. I'm still not ok doing anything physical :dead:

I had salad with sausages for lunch and still don't know what to have for tea. I think it will be something quick and easy.

I'm having massive problems with the internet at the moment. My browser just won't connect to the wifi (sounds as though I know what I'm talking about, doesn't it?) Every time I ask Neil to fix it, he opens the PC up and it works straightaway, so he thinks there's nothing wrong with it. "Just a bit slow..."

I'm not sure that this message will load though, but well see.

So sorry, @jpscloud, that your "bug" hasn't gone yet. if it doesn't sort itself out soon, perhaps you should think about getting medical advice.

Breakfast was "overnight oats". Nothing since - too busy finishing off cakes to stop for food or drink - idiot! Still, they're done now and all packed up ready to go. I'm ready for an evening in my chair with my feet up. But I have to go - I promised. No idea what my 2nd meal will be - it's a buffet provided by the hotel.

Today I used the Panda bread flour to make a garlic/cheese/onion bread, which was absolutely amazing eaten warm from the oven with garlic butter! (butter, garlic, salt)
I used this recipe for a base: https://t4s.site/panda-pantry-recipes/panda-garlic--cheese-protein-rolls/
But I pressed it flat and added lots of lightly sautéed onions and cheese on top before putting in the oven. Also more garlic than the recipe called for of course.

The other half will come with me for an afternoon of sailing tomorrow, I'll stink of garlic anyway so it doesn't matter. I'll sit downwind if it bothers anyone. :hilarious:

edit: Oh, the other stuff in the picture is the leftover celeriac mayo from yesterday.

It's really only been since Monday, so I think it's in the range for normal recovery - I'm just really impatient. If I still have more than mild symptoms next week I'll maybe try 111 for advice.

I had a ready meal from the freezer for tea. It wasn't low carb!

Of course, I forgot to take my insulin with me so I had to be very sparing with the food. Just one tablespoon of chicken tikka masala and a few leaves - actually just a few little bits of rocket, which is my least favourite leaf. At least BG stayed in the 7's. Couldn't even have much to drink. I realised on the way in that the hotel was not exactly wheelchair friendly so needed to keep my trips to the toilet to a minimum. When I did have to ask where it was, the carpet was too thick in the corridor so I couldn't make any headway until a kind soul pushed me, then the door was so heavy that it took my helper, my stretched out legs and another lady, to get me through it. No disabled toilet, of course, just a couple of tiny cubicles which even an able bodied person would struggle to get into and shut the door and no alarm cord either in case of emergencies. Apparently there is a disabled toilet in the other half of the hotel (down in the lift and along another long corridor) so I kept fluid to a minimum.
