What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B. 1 slice Burgen toast + cheese spread
L. 3 chipolata 95%pork sausages+ 2 fried eggs
D. 1slice baked gammon with cheese melt, strawberries+ dbl cream
S. 3 pieces m+s crispy bacon + 1.1/2oz cheese Dbl Gloucester+ chives

Thanks for info suehatton - don't know what I've had today, (no bread or potatoes or root veg) but will start checking tomorrow

Margar - If you are moving off a high carb diet, I would suggest you do as you are doing now and just avoid the biggies - bread, potato, root veg, rice and pasta - and see how you get on. You can always refine it as you go, if you want, or indeed, to go lower.

It's note a race. That you are actively managing your diet now, and testing regularly (I think I read elsewhere?), you are moving a long way on the right direction.

Good luck with it all.

B: peanut butter mug muffin + cream
L: cheese & chive scone with pate
D: sausages with fried left over mashed cauliflower

B: Mug of coffee with double cream & Truvia.
L: 2 slices of buttered Burgen toast spread with a little strawberry jam (need to use it up) and mug of black ginger tea sweetened with 1 tsp of honey.
D: Roast chicken & 1 roast potato, steamed carrots, sweetcorn and green beans. 1 ginger biscuit.
S: 3 wet walnuts, maybe a little cheddar cheese.

I know I probably shouldn't be eating some of these but I walked over 21,000 steps today so I feel I've earned it.

Bit of an up and down type of day .....

Breakfast was an unsuccessful experiment - one Weetabix, yoghurt, raspberries
Snack (again unsuccessful spiked to 12.6) one Thornton's diabetic chocolate (a birthday gift)
Lunch - Bacon, Scrambled Eggs and Tomato (back down to 6.2 after 2 hours)
Dinner - Smoked Salmon, Green Salad and a Couple of New Potatoes tossed in butter, followed by
Yoghurt and sugar free jelly with raspberries

I read every word, thank you
Hey Margar, this is the recipe I use for peanut butter mug cake. Like someone else mentioned, I use Tesco "everyday value", coz for some reason it's lower carb than other brands...

2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 egg.

Some folks add sugar, sweetener and/or vanilla essence if you like. I've settled on not bothering.

Mix thoroughly in a mug.
Microwave on full for 90 seconds.
Dollop with double cream and put it in your face!

70 carbs a day, is that what a retired woman should aim for? I have the Tesco crunchy peanut butter. This eve I had tinned sardines in tomato salad sauce, 2 h/boiled eggs, salad & salad cream. Better start checking carb numbers now.
The how many carbs question is like how long is a piece of string but obviously between certain limits, and we're all different. Sardines are good in brine but not in tomato sauce; salad cream also has a lot of sugar. I have Hellmans original full fat mayo.
@GeoffersTaylor Wow that's the easiest one of all. I'll have a go right now!

Yesterday ...
B - Sausages at camp
L - Home made KFC style chicken (yes it had flour in the coating, no I don't care!)
D - Broccoli and stilton soup. It was the first time I've made that and it was delicious. Thanks to @Lenny3 for mentioning it.
S - pork scratchings.

Breakfast:- 4 rashers streaky bacon .. 2 scrambled eggs - I large tomato, all cooked in microwave (for convenience) 1 slice seeded bread BUT toasted & slit through middle to make it really thin, making it 1/2 the carb count for 1 sl. Bread

Another huge food day yesterday. Need to stop this habit. lol

B: egg, bacon, and excellent sausage and latte
L: deli salad, v low carb and not very big
D: out to Chinese restaurant, where I was very selective. It was buffet style, so I stuck to ribs, chicken wings, beef and chicken dishes, and 3 sweet and sour chicken balls. The main entertainment was seeing how much Mr B could inhale. He managed to stay lowish carb, but could barely walk back to the car! Has been regretting it since, but has he learned his lesson? Unlikely!

B: Chia seed bread & butter, strawberries & cream
L: 2 hard boiled eggs, blueberries & cream
S: the last bit of roquefort left over from last night’s cheeseboard
D: Left over coq au chardonnay, a new potato, asparagus, raspberries & cream
S: 2 squares 85% dark chocolate

Yall are making me hungry and I don't even know what pork scratchings or rashers are.

I want some biscuits n gravy but alas Dr says no more for me.

Old habits die hard.

How did you get on at docs @oldsurveyor ?

Rashers are slices of bacon and pork scratchings are crumbly pieces of cooked pork fat+meat

Yesterday:

B: Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Chipolatas, Tom and Mush

D: Pork Fillet roasted, with a Curried Sauce and lots of veggies, Raspberries with Greek Yoghurt and Clotted Cream whipped.
