That's a good 1 hour result. Did you do a lot of running around today?

Lol! I did a lot of 'time warping' and 'superman' dancing. I suppose that counts!

Off to test again....

Still away - trying to low carb but why does nowhere just do a nice ham salad ?

Breakfast cooked English - mr ethyl enjoying my portion of toast and hash browns.
Lunch carvery - 1/4 roast spud.. Actually not that fussed. Left loads on plate as far too hot. Menu outside had omelette on but once you sat down full menu said main meal lunches only on Sunday. Arghh.
Evening posh Indian - 3/4 poppadum, some chicken in green chilli sauce. Chicken sashlick, red onion salad and a wild mushroom stir fry. Loads if water.

It had been hard to find low carb meals in places that the other half will also eat in. It's so hot and humid that you'd think places would be serving lovely fresh salads and berries but it's all bloomin chips and buns. Be glad to get home and back to my own catering as BS levels have been running at over 6 which is higher than usual during day.

Brekkie: egg n bacon and a tiny latte

Lunch: large salad with crustless quiche, strawberries n cream

Dinner: moussaka and low carb strawberry sponge with cream

Carbs - 105g
Cals - 2795
Fat - 200g
Protein - 122g

Very disappointed with the carbs today! It was an emergency crustless quiche from Asda, when we were out later than expected. So hungry I ate the pastry base. Bye bye ketosis :(

Are those your toes? I read this week that people with diabetes should not paint their toenails as we need to be able to see when our toenails go wrong. I reckoned it was a NICE/NHS conspiracy to make us all have ugly feet and spoil our fun, so bought a bottle of Barry M raspberry. It's lovely :D
Because I changed to LCHF, I escaped diabetes, so yes I'm happily painting my toenails, actually had it done professional while also having pedicure.

You may not slip out of ketosis with that - some people can have 125g carbs a day and be in ketosis - can't remember where I read it.

Anyway I'm defo off the ketosis bandwagon :(

2 burgen toast
No lunch
Birds eye Inspirations fish with roasted veg
Cheap choc ice
1 Burgen toast with boursin
Too much bread I know, but Im guessing not that many calories. Weigh day tomorrow. Resisted Maccies breakfast. Wish weight loss was directly proportional to what you resist rather than what you actually eat.

I am petty sure that I'm only in ketosis at much lower than 100. Maybe half that. Or rather, I should say that the benefits of ketosis (feeling well) disappear once my carbs go much over 50. Sad but true.

Still, back to work tomorrow. Straight and narrow, here I come.

Interesting! For me I feel **** no matter how many carbs I eat above 30!

Yes, it boggles my mind to hear people actually trundling merrily through life, feeling well, and functioning, on over 100. I'm very pleased for them (and envious) but it is like looking at a different species.

Is 30 the level you have set to stay on?

I dunno right now really. I think 30 is a realistic low for me - 20 is quite hard work without much flexibility but I did lose weight on 20 fairly well.

I'm trying not to focus on the weight and just stabilise sugars as the weight should come off naturally later on surely if I haven't been producing as much insulin?!

Not one ounce lost. Hardly eaten anything. No appetite. Proper fed up :-(

Aaww Sue. Chin up :) Maybe you have not lost because you are not eating enough. Difficult when you have no appetite. Perhaps you could make a batch of nut balls. They are low carb/high fat/insane calories and keep well in the fridge.

Deb's recipe is on post #1059 of this thread

Brekkie: 600ml green smoothie

Lunch: 1/4 crustless quiche, pork scratchings and 350ml green smoothie

Dinner: beef and tomato and low carb strawberry sponge with cream

Carbs - 46g
Cals - 2067
Fat - 137g
Protein - 77g

Oh, and 2x 2 square of 70% choc

This carb/cal/fat/protein report I've been doing is fascinating.

My food intake covers a range from 1,800 cals one day, up to 2,800 another. Totally appetite driven, influenced by exercise level. It would appear that I am eating naturally (and without carb cravings) without any conscious portion control :woot:

You may think that is nothing special, but for me, it is amazing. I have a loooong history of using food for depression control, self medication due to hypos, comfort eating and fear of hunger (because of the accompanying hypos). Low carb was an improvement, but getting the carbs down to this level makes such a difference.

It eliminates the cravings, and seems to be allowing my body to gently drift towards the weight it wants to be...
