We'll done! It's sometimes far harder to get back on again....Well after doing a treble somersault, double backflip off the back of the lowcarb wagon last thursday , i decided to crawl back on it today . I did enjoy what i ate over the weekend (shush cant tell you what though), but i am glad to get back to what i now consider normal .

Supper 11.45pm crab seeded wholemeal sandwich. Today i was obviously bad but i fancied & planned my meds around my bad food. It did work with a long walk. Type2 met & glic.
Hi Ellie-70... welcome... check out the low-carb recipe thread here - some really lovely recipes to be had... and they are tried and tested too... Good luck with the testing - it is very interesting to see the results... you can ask any questions you like on this thread, someone will always help you - these guys are very well-informed and seasoned 'testers' - and they are kind and supportive..Morning: Tea with homemade ground nut biscuit, Greek Yogurt with a few berries and walnuts. Small piece of dark chocolate Easter Egg.
Afternoon: Tea with homemade ground nut biscuit again.
Evening: 2 egg mushroom omelette. Tea with homemade ground nut biscuit (again - I really need to stop baking these things)
Night: Brandy with diet 7Up. Small 'funsize' apple.
All day: Drank way too much water, that diabetic thirst hasn't abated yet. I am getting my first meter tomorrow so hoping to get rid of the thirst through better control of my blood glucose.
By 11pm my bs was back down to 6.8 today i must be good with food lol, i try. What the heck were your bloods after that lot?
Did you make the swede noodles with a vegetable spiraller? I often make the zuchinni noodles that way and was wondering what other vegetables would work. Is swede low carb?Yesterday:
B/L (after fasting bloods taken) - in a cafe, cheese and mushroom omelette, 2 rashers bacon, salad and coleslaw. Dinner: 2 lamb and thyme burgers, and some swede noodles (a new experiment) cooked in butter and garlic oil, with cherry tomatoes, kale and grated cheddar. Spoon of aioli. Then some dark choc Lindt bunny, and some cheese. I didn't get to test after that little lot as I was busy with the baby. In other news had my first retinopathy exam today and all is well on that front.
Here are the swede noodles. Quite convincingly spagetti-like, no?

Hey, @Hedonista Where do you get your almond bread, or do you make it yourself, is it very low carb and what does it taste like in comparison to normal wholemeal? I like the sound of it.Breakfast: Garlic Mushrooms on Almond Bread
Lunch: Two Baby Bels on the run
Dinner: Vegetables in spicy peanut sauce - absolutely delicious!
No idea about BG levels, have got a bit sick of checking and am having a couple of days off.
Nice swerve there,.... I meant after the big hits.By 11pm my bs was back down to 6.8 today i must be good with food lol, i try.
Can't do two slices if toast without complaints from my meter; can't do 5k run eithera.m 2 x pieces of wholemeal toast 9g each with lc peanut butter and bullet proof coffee. p.m fried egg, bacon and tomatoes. 5k run, then toast again with jam as bg ran low. later boiled Kippers, frugal day.
There's another guy on here possibly @JohnD54? Who would rather go higher carb and work/burn it off... You've obvs taken a planned approach rather than a "s*d it" attitude... So good on ya (as you said it "worked" adjusting meds and long walk..... ) I'm guessing it was more of a planned "treat" than a regular eating styleBreakfast late 11.20am bit chow mein & sweet sour chicken.
