Has anyone got a source of reasonably priced posh pork scratchings? I got them from a seller on Amazon, for a while, but the only ones for sale there now are at silly prices...

I got mine from amazon also, they were at £7.49 though, I guess like most amazon items add to wish list and watch for it to be on sale, I think waitrose might sell them and Harvey nicks etc but no doubt more expensive, sorry not much help :)
maybe you could try durian again lol

I'll settle for the recipe - assuming you used a different one from the Spice Men's?

Recipe? I didn't do this one to any recipe.

I browned a couple of sliced onions, then used those to line the bottom of the slow cooker. I then browned the short ribs, in the same oil, then places on top of the onions. I added a leek, some mushrooms, a carrot, a parsnip (Sorry, sorry !), a bit of seasoning, a beef stock pot, 250ml red wine, and enough water to just cover the other ingredients.

I set this to High for an hour, then turned down to low and ignored for 9 hours.

At this stage, I fished out the bones, which were completely clean. I ladled off as much liquid as I could, and reduced it to about a third to intensify the flavours.. Whilst the liquid was reducing, I fished out the chunks of beef and pulled, as you might the pork, and put it back into the dish, along with the reduced stock.

I served on a bed of steamed kale, and it tasted better than I thought it would when cooking it. :)

There's a lot of it. If anyone's passing, pop in and pick up a vat. There'll be enough!!

Yes, a little drizzle over it is yum! It's like how they have their sausage and pancakes in America :) :)
I used to love marmalade with my sausages and on fried bread - can't do that any more, but will try the sausage/maple syrup thing

The best ones are the German ones in aldi or lidl - bawerherst or whatever they're called - it tastes like American sausages which I love!

It is a Cathedral city wrapped portion. 12g and 50cals apparently. I am safest with restricted portions of the stuff , at least until I lose a bit more weight. Though I do have a nice Wensleydale lurking in fridge for supper.
