Given recent comments on other threads about the forum members' lack of medical expertise, and criticism of remarks about low-carb diets and 'white carbohydrates', could someone please explain what is the status of the 'Basic Information for Newly Diagnosed Diabetics' that gets posted to newbies? Is this what the forum believes? Is it misleading? Should it be changed?

It's just advice ! That's what we all do here, just give advice ! Hopefully the advice is based on experience but you just have to pick and choose what advise suits you best ! It is impossible to give out advice to newly diagnosed ( or anyone else ) that is 100% gospel to all diabetics. Some are happy to eat carbs, some not. Some go the low GI route, others can't be bothered. Different strokes for different folks !
