What do you have to stop sweet cravings?

What is your favourite low dessert?

Fruit wise I only like apples and strawberries.

Keto pancakes with either bacon and sugar free maple syrup, or Greek yoghurt and berries.

Bacon.

But if that doesn't work...a Seriously low carb brownie with cream

Or coffee with cream and a couple of squares of 99% chocolate.

Or a few raspberries and cream.

Never tried bacon and cream...

I make a high protein dessert that keeps my sweet cravings at bay:

  • 2 table spoon Greek yoghurt
  • 3 table spoons of no sugar coconut milk
  • 1/2 scoop diet choc brownie protein powder
  • 1/2 scoop diet choc cookie protein powder
  • 2 tea spoons crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 walnut
  • 1 square 100% dark choc
  • 2 tea spoons double cream
  • handful of blueberries
  • handful of raspberries

add the Greek yoghurt to a bowl
add the protein powders
mix to a thick paste
add coconut milk 1 table spoon at a time and mix until you have the consistency you like
add 1 teaspoon of peanut butter mix in a little
add the berries
mix it up a bit more
add the remaining tea spoon of peanut butter in little dollops around the bowl
crush and sprinkle a walnut over the whole thing
chop the dark choc into small pieces sprinkle over the dessert
pour over the double cream
sprinkle a few pomegranate seeds over it because they look nice and are crunchy (not a lot as they up the carb count)

It tastes very sweet and chocolatey, and the protein makes it very filling. So 10 mins after you've finished it you're feeling too full to cheat by snacking anymore.

Ice cream

A small amount of plain vanilla hasn't much effect on my bg, and I can always go to the trouble of making my own low carb variety.

Haha I’m with many of the others… a nice glass of Laphroaig whisky and a square of 90% Lindt dark choc.

If I really want to, I make a low carb choccie cake with a chocolate ganache frosting, or coconut cake.

Try chocolate mug cakes, almost instant for that quick fix!

A square (or 2) of 85% or 90% dark plain chocolate. Aldi or lidl for value.

Sometimes to stop a craving a spoonful of double cream or creamy plain yoghurt

For dessert as an alternative OGTT I recently tried half an apple sliced, baked in lots of butter and covered in cinnamon and that was very delicious.

I love all these foods, how about this;
