What music are you listening to?

Today I am mostly listening to Dr Feelgood mix. Might take things down a bit later with some vintage Richard Thompson

Caught up with some music video's on YouTube last night, in the 80's I was a big fan of the band Van Halen and this brought back some good memories, remember being gutted that Sammy Hagar replaced Dave Lee Roth on lead vocals but the boy did good:

Went to the cinema last night to watch Eric Clapton from the Alber Hall. It was recorded in May for his 70th. Brilliant concert, must have a look and see if it's due out on dvd & cd.

So far this morning on youtube The Killers, The Eagles, Neil Young, Cam Tapp (Australian), Free, Badcompany, and Eddie Vedder. Next up is Bruce Springsteen.

I stumbled upon this music video today on a music site I visit regularly and thought it was rather beautiful and possibly more relevant today than when Nick Lowe first wrote it and recorded it with Brinsley Schwarz in 1974 .

And if you hanker for the original go here www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_u2OK_IKw0

Gotta love Brinsley Schwartz. He and Bob Andrews went on to become key members of the Rumour (as in Graham Parker and ...) who were one of the best live acts I have ever seen.

Which, in turn, has made me go back and listen to this:

Nerdy fact: This is a re-mix of a rather more pedestrian version of the song to be found on the album "Howling Wind". It was released as a 12 inch single making up the fourth side of "The Parkerilla", which was a live double album. I still have my copy, and have to remember to switch from 33 to 45 rpm when I turn the record over. All those of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about: shut up, you young whippersnappers :D
