5.0 today woohooo (expecting @jjraak at any moment)

Met with my old boss and a former colleague today for a catch up at Stanley park cafe. 2 hours later (time flew) i was heading home feeling very happy to have caught up with all the family and office news.

Lovely day to clear out the garage don't you think! Well actually I'm just making brews for the worker (hubby). Doing my paperwork. Which basically means shifting it around the table, usually ending up with more than I started with! I seem to get way laid. An idea springs to mind and have to Google. Today's ideas ranged from looking at wallpaper, sofas, sussing out a restaurant for son's birthday, car mats, the news, onto Facebook, Twitter, forum, get the jist. Consequently paperwork not getting a look in!!!

I will do as you say. Sun is still out.
But I can feel the drop in temperature. Popeye is still in the sun. I might last another half hour before it gets too cold...

Guess the vet must not have given him sufficient medication. or that was one strong cat. Lived for a few more years but probably had used up all his 9 lives.

-1 degree outside, while inside all is cosy. The KittenCat is sitting in solidarity with Popeye, as I'm sure Daisy and Bobs, Charlie and Lola, and Marley are as well.

The hole punch not (found) taken is now less of a problem. Looking for my warm coats I came across some braces found my warm coats just when the sun came out. Also found shorts so a couple of months to find the good polo shirts! Good to see you back at Six Rivers Fall. You would have found Newmarket in the early spring (modern version. My mum always insisted spring began on her birthday, March 21st) sunshine, enchanting. I am hoping to meet my mum's baby brother (huge horse racing fan) there one morning at The Gallops then on for breakfast - he has become increasingly anxious about leaving home but that would be an invitation he (probably) couldn't refuse

Okay.
Popeye and I are indoors now in the front window where we are getting the last of the day’s sun.
He’s just had another hot compress, and I think he learnt some more naughty words since this morning! But he accepted it better and I was able to do it without binding him in a towel. He is now on my lap giving a tiny purr.
Plan for tomorrow is to take him to the local vet before 9am and if they won’t see to him immediately (from their website it seems you have to make an advance appointment but I cannot telephone with being deaf), or give him an appointment tomorrow, then I will take him back home. He will have to stay in my bedroom (for safety) until I get back home from my hospital appointment, and then I will put his cat harness and lead on and take him to the Veterinary School's Small Animal Teaching Hospital. So, that is my back up plan. It is open all day until 6pm. You can just drop in with that one. His original very old cat basket is a wicker one, and would not stand a Popeye onslaught...

@ianpspurs I hope your uncle will be able to accept your invitation. It sounds like a wonderful way to spend a morning.

@gennepher. I am glad and relieved Popeye is continuing to feel better. Surely the vet will take an emergency over scheduled routine appointments. I have had emergencies take priority over my routine visits at least once so assume it is done at need.

Wow, plenty going on here today. Mrs MC and I decided on a big circular walk from home, all on bridleways, forest and heathland, some mud but a lot of land here is Bunter Pebble Beds and drains very quickly, probably manage about 8 mile with a stop for lunch at a pub, good day. Lots of Celandine along the stream banks and spring waiting to burst forth.

@gennepher sorry to read about you day, reading the posts it seems you have done a great job for Popeye and he's improved wonderfully, well done. Liked your art today, I prefer the one on watercolour paper this time, whereas yesterday I preferred the other, must be the colours or the paper best suits the atmosphere you captured.

I have done a sketch from a photograph of a Sweet Chestnut, I have been asked to do a painting of this tree for a farmer so doing some studies. Colour pencils, A4, now have to decide, large painting of tree or the tree in a landscape.

Photographs and artwork are wonderful. I miss the celandine we saw from the kitchen window and our lab like Moet BUT realise how blessed we were to have those delights so thank you.

Thank you. Popeye is now purring quite loudly. So he must be feeling a lot more comfortable.
It is good to do them on two different papers to see how they work out.
I like the massive Sweet Chestnut. Both your ideas would look good. I think it will be painting the one you would most enjoy doing.

@Muddy Cyclist thank you for posting the photos and the painting. Just as I got to the painting my phone zoomed in on it and I saw all the amazing enlarged details of the limbs and twigs. It is a beautiful painting and I agree with @gennepher. that either view you decide on will be admired and appreciated by the farmer.

They have to see immediately he is an elderly cat with a nasty infection...you have hearing difficulties & need to attend your appointment impress that upon them...could you leave him there & collect him on your return?

Thanks, @ianpspurs @Krystyna23040 @gennepher @SaskiaKC and @HarryBeau for you nice comments. Moet is 13 years old and as you know blind we have to walk him on a lead when it's narrow as he bumps into things, on open ground he copes but in this picture it's farmland and this particular farmer does shoot loose dogs so no choice here. The good thing is he's moving better since taking the Youmove tablets.
