What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a dusting of icing morning in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of a three hour in the sous vide bavette (flank if you want less letters) and then pan fried in butter and bone marrow came in at 3.9 this am. They were selling them at 4 for £7 so a tidy few in the freezer.

World book day yesterday. Little Miss Pamplemousse (age 5) went to school as The Hungry Caterpillar and Mr Pickle and his best friend (age 11) wend as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. I, of course, dressed as Batman but had to wait until nightfall to go out into the streets - always be yourself but if you can’t, be Batman.

Out for a walk along the coast this morning - well, that’s the thought for today.
Have as wonderful a day as you can. Dress up in your finest costume - it’s never too late. Koffy.

Lol I am always happy to lounge in the dark months :) accompanied by two very softly lovable felines. Sorry about the sofa ovee the years we have made disappointing sofa decisions. Our current ones are a bit threadbare but still comfy so all is goood.
Hubbby loves it as it is really comfortable so I guess we live with it for a while longer. I don't have any felines to lounge with me though.

Thanks for asking PM a few family worries at the moment, Im sure it’ll all be ok in the end. Meanwhile we are all having to muck in and I haven’t had time for the lovely chattiness of this thread - so easy to spend an hour here isn’t it?
I’m trying to remember to post on the no chat fbg thread just so I don’t lose the habit and start slipping.
I’ll be back though and meantime will just dip in and out to check up on you all from time to time.
Hope your day under a rug with Daisy was as relaxing as it sounds b
Hugs for you @DJC3
You need some 'hermit' time...

I don't think that you are being extreme - I agree that it is absolutely disgusting.

5.9 this morning ;)

Eye tests went well yesterday, no need for new specs and no apparent issues re T2, happy days :) Today is blood test results time, not predicting a smiley face for that one but 'hey ho' there are worse things abroad in the world. I refuse to give up my 'jack the lad, devil may care' lifesty... who am I kidding ;)

Have fun, it's Friday :)

Great news, @OldButBold ... And good luck for the blood test results.

Fbg 6.8

Popeye is doing well. I still need to keep a close eye on his abscess wound and clean it daily. But his face looks bright and alert which I am very pleased with.

I am still recovering from yesterday. It looks like sun today...at least at the moment. Temperature is -4C. Frost out there.

Yesterday morning before I went out, I washed my hands again, and used the 'gloves in a bottle' I have. I didn't think of doing this before. I have mentioned this 'gloves in a bottle' previously because I use it when painting, and it means the paint comes easily off my hands instead of staining them for the day when I do an early morning painting. So my reasoning was it might help against the Coronavirus, as I didn't want to wear my disposable gloves yesterday, but I was wearing my gloves with rubber/plastic dots on (I need those gloves to help me grip stuff and to support my hands and wrists). So, I thought I would try the 'gloves in a bottle' on my hands, under my regular gloves.

My bottle is half empty, so while I was out, I thought I will order another bottle when I got home. But because of the stupid nurse messing up my pessary change badly and causing me pain etc, I had to come straight home and lie down. (A competent person does not cause any pain or other problems whatsoever)And I fell asleep and forgot. So this morning just now I went on Amazon to order another bottle. A large bottle. Just one in stock and they don't know when they will get more... I pressed buy immediately. There are still some smaller bottles of it, but they work out expensive. So, I am thinking maybe other people have the same idea as me, that the 'gloves in a bottle' might help a wee bit against the Coronavirus?

It is nice stuff anyway. Makes my hands feel nice. Helps protect when you are constantly washing your hands. Moisturises them. And protects your hands when you are doing dirty jobs. Or painting. I use my hands a lot when painting.

Painting for today, something a bit different.
Just blue watercolour.
As before, A5 pad on top, index card on bottom.
Initially I liked the way the index card was going, Then when I put the tree trunks on I didn't like it any more.
It is basically 4 stages and waiting in between.
A lighter wash of blue.
A darker few bits.
Then a bit more darker bit, letting each stage dry in between.
Then the tree trunks with a Japanese blue brush pen.

Have fun today.
Sleep and nap if you need to.
The world is your oyster...
Meditation and escapism for me today...
Take care...

Morning All. A dastardly 6.5 this morning due to sharing some of Mr PM’s crisps (not that many) with my start to the weekend gin & soda. No I never learn but they were reallllly nice at the time. Move on.
Sunny and minus 1 here atm. At least this week’s cheerier weather has contrasted with everything else going on. Yesterday Mr PM sweetly said he needed to understand how to feed me if I succombed to CV later he said he was going to book an early summer golf weekend with No 1son in Ireland. I did point out that could easily turn into several weeks away if he succombed and who would feed me then, lol.
@gennepher sorry you had such a frustrating day and hope today is more serene. Glad Popeye is doing well. The blue paintings remind me of pottery and I see trees in the top half and creatures of the deep in the lower half. @OldButBold great results yesterday and best wishs for today. Have a Taliskar, its cold out there.
Have a good Friday everyone. Need to run a few errands and tidy outside if it thaws.
Stay well, stay safe.

Morning all. So far I have read about chilli in sausage casserole - no likey either of those so sympathy/kudos @trick60 ; Bavette steak going for a song - excellent fbg @dunelm; Mr @Ryhia enjoying the sofa, @OldButBold acing the eye tests, seen some of @gennepher's excellent artwork and followed 3 of @jjraak's links. Phew. Fbg of 6.1 totally unacceptable - I'm heartily tired of posting about this and you guys must be sick to the back teeth of me by now. How in tarnation do people eat enough fat to fuel them? I'm now down to 72 kgs largely because CI/CO works a charm when low carb if one can't abide fat in most forms. Forcing CWC into diet is no way forward. Ember day today and fasting would be so easy but the game is to find a way of eating to deal with this - not eating is the easy part. Youngest grandchild with us later then tomorrow afternoon and night; oldest (only boy so far) to collect from school, change, feed and convey to stage school while baby is here. Why did you move people ask. Plasterer working on garage conversion to add to the smooth running of the operation - looks like kitchen will be ripped out and a wall gone earlier than expected. Have a great day folks I'm off to buy a huge supply of Mrs Jack Spratt pills.

@ianpspurs, since taking a more carnivore WOE I have found that I don’t need to think about adding more fat per se.
I suppose that the extreme low carb aspect here is that I am getting enough fat from whatever I am using to cook meat in - mainly butter, ghee and bone marrow, using fairly fatty cuts of pork and lamb belly, fatty fish like mackerel and such like. I have not felt hungry since I started this in Jan except for the recent attempt at going meat free and switching to veg - disaaaster daaarling (just how many cabbages do you need to plow through to satiate) - now back on carnivore and happily consuming two or sometimes only one meal a day and lots of water, sometimes in the form of tea and koffy. It can get a bit boring I guess but interesting uses of herbs and spices helps. As does a slow cooker.
