Mr K would be really happy to see your post. Must make sure he doesn't see it.Save the Norfolk 1 campaign needed. Inhuman conditions the poor man toils under.
I totally get the carnivore theory BUT even skim reading your post I know that would be as close to hell on earth for me as I want to go. We have all the gear - IP/sous vide oven/air fryer etc but mackerel (tinned) and avocado salad trumps almost all meat for me every time. Once we are all unpacked and builders gone I may find MCT oil + nutribullet & go bulletproof tea sometimes. I see your numbers and your method but AFAIC for me it is like Ben Stokes' training regime and diet - nice to know but not applicable to me. Really grateful for the information though and super pleased for how carni suits you. Take care of that piriformus. @Krystyna23040 the people's post must be respected. Show the poor soul at once. Get the fightback done and ring the Church bells throughout the land - well Norfolk at least.@ianpspurs, since taking a more carnivore WOE I have found that I don’t need to think about adding more fat per se.
I suppose that the extreme low carb aspect here is that I am getting enough fat from whatever I am using to cook meat in - mainly butter, ghee and bone marrow, using fairly fatty cuts of pork and lamb belly, fatty fish like mackerel and such like. I have not felt hungry since I started this in Jan except for the recent attempt at going meat free and switching to veg - disaaaster daaarling (just how many cabbages do you need to plow through to satiate) - now back on carnivore and happily consuming two or sometimes only one meal a day and lots of water, sometimes in the form of tea and koffy. It can get a bit boring I guess but interesting uses of herbs and spices helps. As does a slow cooker.
I have a client whose life was saved by mega doses of vitamin C after they got an infection around their heart. The outlook wss not good - according to the doctors as the intravenous antibiotics were not working.A link re a post about vit C I found useful.

@Krystyna23040 and @jjraak agree about the value of vit c. It helped me hugely to heal a very broken wrist full of plates and screws in the past. At the time I took high dose slow release pill but in recent years any form of vit c swallowed gives me bad tummy ache even with food. I have not been able to find a sublingual version. Any ideas welcome!I have a client whose life was saved by mega doses of vitamin C after they got an infection around their heart. Thanks @PenguinMum. I can and do eat cheese and eggs (less now we don't have our own hens) but always either in a salad or omelette with salad. Mince is fine - probably safest meat idea but I usually need garlic, passata and basil, lamb chops are a waste of energy and money for me. I wouldn't say I'm a skinny minny but BMI of 21.5 means I'm not too portly. The issue will come to a head once the builders have finished and I resume exercise. Cream/yogurt with rhubarb/raspberries/blueberries fine. Fat without carbs not an option - bought pork scratchings too salty h/m such a faff . I would happily eat mountains of butter on toast or in a sandwich but lc bread ?@ianpspurs do you like cheese? That and eggs are probs my sources of fat. I do not like fatty meat (esp mince yuk) other than an occasional lamb chop. As for cream, just why would you? Yogurt only to cool my curry. Unlike though you I’m not a fan of the avo either. I dont think I obviously eat a lot of fat but stopped losing weight a long time ago I have reached a plateau a long while ago on weight and am not a skinny minny but 2 stone lighter than start point. We are all different of course but after my warblings would getting your fat intake from cheese help you?
Thank you sooo much OBB if anyone could have found this it had to be you. When I googled I only got multi vits incl vit c. Will order today.
You’re welcome. Btw if you like mice I can arrange a package to Norfolk regularlyThanks @PenguinMum. Actually in Suffolk but on the border - Thetford Forest - and yes, I noticed and corrected the mince one. To be fair, mice might be an improvement on brisket/chops (lamb and pork) /allegedly posh chicken/bacon et alYou’re welcome. Btw if you like mice I can arrange a package to Norfolk regularly
@ianpspurs - bashed avocado with sumac, topped with a poached egg - fabI totally get the carnivore theory BUT even skim reading your post I know that would be as close to hell on earth for me as I want to go. Thanks. I'm very happy with poached egg on avocado. Sorely miss the sourdough though as it is so insubstantial without the toast or 1.5 litres of tea. So I abandoned that. We did find a recipe for the egg cooked inside a whole avocado which was wrapped in bacon. Quite a faff to keep the yolk runny - waste of effort if no runny yolk. Needs a large avocado and bacon no longer pleases me but worth a try when next in M and S who seem to be the only ones selling large enough avocados. I really do appreciate all these ideas but just feel totally lost in this LCHF food world. If I get/keep A1c around 36/7 by eating my way, as I did for first 3.5 years - basically given up hope of this working well - I'll be fine. Spooked by 18 months of change - may have been the bladder cancer I suppose.@ianpspurs - bashed avocado with sumac, topped with a poached egg - fab
Thank you @PenguinMum@gennepher sorry you had such a frustrating day and hope today is more serene. Glad Popeye is doing well. The blue paintings remind me of pottery and I see trees in the top half and creatures of the deep in the lower half.
Think that is totally the wrong way round. Thank you for sharing them and not keeping your gift to yourself. I'm not sure that if I had any gifts I would be so generous. Probably fortunate I don't have gifts so I'm not tested.Thank you for looking at them @ianpspurs
No hugs needed for my 6.7 today...it's not an ideal number but it's not a bad number considering the circumstances...hugs when needed are appreciated however I am not unhappy with my FBG I'm up & mobile had a couple of weeks where I felt so unwell now on the road back to normal (whatever that is)...had coffee & off to work shortly.
