Really..I was born in 1958 and can remember it on tv...mind you that was probably Eire being a bit late catching up. Its funny how old tv revisited just seems wrong to revisit eg. Mr PM and I always enjoyed Yes Minister but when I bought him some dvds a few years ago they were just sooo slow and didnt reflect our m3mories despite the wonderful actors. Maybe better leave The Flowerpot Men to histort then. Of course Zi dont know a thing about Paws Patrol.

I'm a little obsessed with the coronavirus at the moment. Following everything closely as my son and his girlfriend are due to fly to Madrid on the 13th. Then my daughter and her family fly to lanzarote on 18th and me and Eric due to fly to Spain on 23rd! If we go will we be able to get back. And if we do will self quarantine be required. Questions questions....

Summer hols might be cancelled big time
In between flights being cancelled, and countries not letting flights in or not letting flights out

Off to India 21 march.
So watching closely.
More counties banning flights
Vietnam refusing visas
And India now not accepting French or Germans.

We are torn between still wanting to go, but being worried about being stranded.
The idea of self isolating in a foreign country possible a school hall or camp doesn't bear thinking of .

Been getting advice from a "friend" also
heading ott, who is perhaps a little bit better. "placed" to know a little bit more then we do

She is suggesting come the weekend we too well be at French German numbers.

So as said the conversation may be moot

But sadly not mine, I remember them fondly on my grandads black and white tv. We didn't have a tv until I was 15, how times change.

Watercolour painting needs layers,usually starting with the lightest colours and building up trying to let the lighter layers shine through. Glad you are enjoying it, I certainly am. I have a couple of art shops asking me to display my work with a view to selling, not sure if I will might take away the enjoyment, which is what it's all about.

I do my granddaughter does have all the pups and their machines as toys and every Friday Paw Patrol is my main play time, I like Rubble best he's like @HarryBeau friendly pouch.

Oh, I remember them well along with all of Watch with Mother. 1953 was before my time June 1955 saw me arrive.

@gennepher sorry you had such a scare, some Amazon delivery people are most odd, still can't get over the ones who keep leaving parcels in our recycle bin, very strange. Digital art was interesting although I have to say it is almost as scary as you Amazon encounter, must have been influenced by it. Like the result and experiment though.

So I have added to yesterday's painting, still lots to do but thinking about it before adding more detail. A4 have worked on it for about 1 hour 30mins this afternoon. Will probably finish it later and post the completed painting Wednesday.... thumbnail is how it finished yesterday as a reminder.

@ianpspurs you are quite a youngster! What was "Watch With Mother" about? I remember seeing it in a TV listing back in the '60s? when my father brought home an English newspaper from a business trip to NYC and thinking it sounded like a nice kids' program.
Off to YouTube now to watch The Flowerpot Men ... I found Paw Patrol is available on my TV.

Did anyone else get the email from diabetes.co.uk about C19 virus and if so did the links work. I have tried several times but get Not Available Message. Is this happening to everyone?

The panicdemic has hit here. I turned into the toilet paper aisle at the grocery store a few minutes ago and the shelves were nearly empty. Out of curiosity I went over to take a look at the soaps aisle and saw nary a bottle of hand sanitizer, and not many bottles of liquid hand soap. What was funny was that the bar soap section was as full as ever -- apparently no one buys bar soap even in cases of widespread panic.
The manager told me that this morning they had not had a single roll of toilet paper in stock.
Oh, well, I thought, 160 years ago it was the Yankees, blockading the ports, who were responsible for the shortages. At least they didn't set out to infect the South with yellow fever or smallpox or cholera or bubonic plague.
And the Indians before and after them couldn't blockade the entire Eastern Seaboard or the western frontier.
At least we still have truck drivers brave enough to deliver toilet paper, and fuel for their trucks.

That takes me back. We were the first family in the grove to have a tv set so all the kids came around to see Watch with Mother. I remember her as a beautiful lady in a ballgown that spoke like the Queen. The beauty of the 'net' and especially Youtube is that you can find bits and pieces of tv from back then
