Some decent points ..

And yet you are here. Because of that open mind... As am I... And many others

But how many others, NOT as open to the possibilities of an alternative. OR able to do so
are we now condemned to a life of complications, with little hope.?.

Am reminded this is mainly an older person disease
I doubt you or I consider ourselves old, more
Like a good pair of shoes, or a classic car, we are just well worn/run in.

Yet I know more then a few that do that. " Ooh trchnology:***: " thing when I try explaining a gadget or benefits of a mobile app :yuck:

So many will now not be made aware
And one again that will be official policy for many.

I Find it hard how they can not see the incoming storm and a clear and visible place of shelter for those who wish it....sad
At 64 years and 8 months yes, I am old. My body tells me so frequently and ignoring the feedback is plain stupid. T2 isn't as much age related as was once thought - profiles of posters will show that. I really like your upbeat and caring attitude, I am far more dour. I abhor the trend for "othering" which permeates discussion/society today. In this thread things are usually quite friendly but the tenor of this forum in general is quite tribal and deteriorates to plain nasty in places. Some popular enemies of the righteous hereabouts are Statins which are supposedly bad always and for everyone; DUK who are inevitably wrong and weirdly evil; big pharma who want to dupe "the people" who are gloriously sticking it to the man. I really can't see how any of those sources have ever sought to do me or anyone I know harm. The worst are the "this is how you do it because we say so" cool gang jumping down the throat of anyone not following their approved route especially if they post non d numbers - not from personal experience that one but I have seen some horrendous examples.

@PenguinMum just spoke to the RSPB (just down the road from my house) they say it's okay to feed Mr Fuzz but it may encourage him (or her) to come back but extra food is needed ...and wild bird feed is fine any kind of grain...they say the choice is up to you whether to feed him or not I think you did the right thing hopefully he's got a little stamina & had flown off to a safer location.

I have a friend who runs a Coffee Bike.
View attachment 39239
He went to Germany on a three day training course on how to make all the different coffee drinks. When out cycling with him, not on the coffee bike, we pop into various coffee shops and often he ends up showing them how to make a good coffee, all to do with temperatures the order in which things are done, apparently so often done wrong, I have to say you can tell the difference between the cups he makes and those served by the staff, amazing, even the staff at the cafes are impressed.
Ah - so that's why coffee that you buy out is quite often not as good as it should be. Perhaps your Coffee Bike friend could come to Norfolk and give us the benefit of his expertise.

Oh thank you for that HB. The funny thing is he was really vocal at 06.30 I didnt go out to leave his seed in the usual spot till about 8 and there was no sign of him or has been since. I think he has gone begging somewhere else. I am a bit worried for him as one of my neighbours regularly shoots squirrels from his bedroom window (used to worry me when the boys were out in my garden but he’s not the sort you could reason with, you know the sort). I hope Mr Fuzz doesnt wander in there!

That's a worry PM but likely he's gone off looking for another source...at least he's not in sight of the squirrel killer...it's illegal to shot grey squirrels unless you are properly licenced and when trapping them it's a requirement to dispatch them humanely...don't mention his dreadful actions to nay prospective buyers.

Well not far behind...sadly.:sorry:
and yes the tsunami overtaking the NHS..well it was the one they worried about, back in that day

yep to the more unpleasant thread lines..not such a genteel place as much as it should be,
Desperate to help or shouting others down..mmh
seen it in both forms and from both sides (well many sides actually.. t1-t2, meat v veggie..it's as old as the hills sadly)

i do read the statin threads so can't say for sure, but DUK does have form
i do believe it's great for T1's..not so good for T2's hence me being here.
have little interest in going back until i read they have dumped the Eatwell plate and advising the OPTION of LCHF

and BIG Pharma DO have skin in this game, do we really believe they wouldn't embellish or scare people into taking a given med for their own profit...i don't personally.

But is it all evil and bad..probably not.
that's why the reading, evaluating and finally the personal experience is so important.

Switch it to moving over to the latest 'flavour'..Vegan..or veganism.for instance

does it work for others certainly
does it work for T2's certainly, thought i does seem harder to make it work from what i have read of the veggie threads
is it for ME..nope..investigate, evaluate, decide.

do i rail against those that choose the veg option..no.
one day i may need to have that option for me,
i'm thankful others have blazed the trail and found ways around the pitfalls i would find myself in, just as on here so many, yourself included guided me around the early days panic of "*** can i eat NOW...:woot::***::arghh: "

So yeah much to agree, @ianpspurs ...and the main point 100%

here is the home of the coolest, chillingist & most helpful little fonzies in the world.
Long may it continue.

At last have caught up with posts. Coffee drunk doggies walked and at dog groomers. Will come back lovely and clean and shiny (the dogs not me).

Warm and windy today (just to clarify that it is the weather I am talking about - not me).

5.2 this morning - which I am really happy with.

Agreement is good but I think I'm temperamentally unsuited to hanging with the cool kids. Last point from me for now. As much as big pharma have skin in the game so do dairy and livestock farmers whose sales were flagging far more than Big Pharma. Big Pharma and health insurance companies do seem to be in a win win situation whatever we do. The farmers much less so. Have a good day.

I can't sleep. Last night I received notice that the small town apartment community has a vacancy for me. In a few hours I must call the manager to accept, then schedule move-in date with him, and with my friend who is moving me; give notice here; finish packing. I am very happy; also apparently very stressed. Couldn't get to sleep til 3 am; weird dream; awake 3 hours later. Hoping to move by the first of April. :)

@PenguinMum I am glad about the good news from your friend. Hopefully Mr Fuzz is on his way home to Mrs Fuzz.

Oh dear off to the vets with Lola she's out of sorts this morning...not eating not playing not engaging with anything … getting her checked over just in case...likely nothing to worry about but she is still a baby & we know how quickly they can go down hill.

Bit gutted PM she has gingivitis her poor little gums were so inflamed & red...I spotted something was wrong straight away this morning...rushed her off to the vets and here we are...antibiotics & pain killers for the next few days it may be related to her teething or a viral condition...viral would make it a chronic lifelong condition if teething it should go...have to get their full medical history from Wood green now.

Had to be up ridiculously early today, fbg 4.6 so maybe it was worth it!
@HarryBeau fingers crossed for Lola, it’s such a worry. We were worried about Dennis yesterday as he was ‘too good’ walked sedately on his lead and when Mr C took him to the pub he curled up and went to sleep at his feet. Unheard of, then luckily a woman went to the loo, leaving her bag on the floor - he immediately spotted a chance for mischief and ran off round the bar with it. Phew! Panic over- normal behaviour. I hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about for Lola too.
@SaskiaKC so pleased for you and the imminent move. I hope it’s a good, excited sort of stress that’s stopping you sleeping though.

Our posts crossed, sorry I didn’t spot your reply first. I’m glad you have a cause at least, and hope the antibiotics and pain relief sort it out for her. Fingers crossed it’s just teething problems.
