A beautiful poem @Muddy CyclistThere was an Italian doctor on the BBC news this evening saying the UK policy in his opinion is a mistake and he fears for Britain, as do I.
However on a bike ride recently I met a friend who read this poem to me, from a safe distance obviously, many have probably already seen this as it went viral, for those that haven't I post it here in the hope it inspires and soothes troubled souls.
And the people stayed home.
And read books and listened, and rested and exercised,
and made art and played games,
and learned new ways of being and were still.
And listened more deeply.
Some meditated, some prayed, some danced.
Some met their shadows.
And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless and heartless ways the earth began to heal.
@DJC3 If you are reading, I just want to say hi. I know you've been really busy so not asking for a reply, just saying hi. I hope you and your family are well.
Somebody has probably already responded to this but her name is Wendy Craig. What was the real name of Ria (Ree-ah?) on "Butterflies" years ago? Anyone remember?
Think I might think of you as "Darth" from now on but then OBB is such a catchy name.
I hope you manage to keep logging on, I am sure everyone enjoys your posts and appreciates your interest and concern. I'm finding that my internet is freezing up at times could be a "mouse" issue but suspect it is just contention. Too many people trying to log on at one time. I think you are right about this thread, I think that I shall come to rely on it to keep sane in the coming months. Just want to say I certainly appreciate you all.Hi All just dipping in with you all. My internet is so unreliable and slow. I can often get in and read your posts but have to wait a long time to be able to reply.
Anyway a few posts I wanted to respond to. @gennepher you sound exhausted and still treating us to lovely flowers, please get a good nights sleep with Popeye same message to SaskiaKC and the KC. @OldButBold please keep making me smile and take care of you. @ianpspurs welcome to Bill & Ben and thanks for the photos. Just gorgeous boys and they will enrich your lives so much. Thank God for all our pets and animals at this time of worry. I am grateful that Mr Fuzz arrived to live in my garden so timely. He was a bit depressed with the weather today but its due to be sunny tomo.

@jjraak you and yours very much on my mind, and all Londoners, take great care.
I hope so much that I can continue to log on here because I know with certainty that I/we will rely on each other in the next few months and I hope you all stay as well as possible. If it comes please God it will be fleeting.
You might all be virtual friends but you are real to me.

Same here MC I haven't bothered with my FBG I am now taking my temperature first thing...so far it's normal wanting to make sure I am well & I don't pass anything on unwittingly...as for the confusion many are still puzzled by the guidance issued I am all we can do is use our common sense wouldn't it be wonderful if our current administration did the same.we are getting more and more confused by what we can and can't do, we will probably have to be guided by our social consciousness, rightly or wrongly.
Snap. I had exactly the same idea yesterday and bought some really nice Microfiber cloths in Aldi.Oh I know I got some microfibre cloths to dry my hands on, my cotton towels stay too wet with the amount of hand washing I do.
not sure if I will be classed as a a selfish panic buyer. In Aldi yesterday I bought an extra box of Nespresso compatible coffee capsules. I did feel guilty because l only needed one box.od afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, but not the selfish panic buyers.
