What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear that. The treatment sounds a bit unpleasant and stressful, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a good result for you. Will you know straight away if it’s helped or do you have to go back for them to check?

The office iftaar party was good but the carb and sugar loaded food scared
... sneaked out after a bite of vegetable fritter (little batter).... on the other hand there was a ‘best dressed’ award and well... a fabulous kurta from this fabulous chain in India called FabIndia paired with dark blue Levis and a hand embroidered Kashmiri vest did the magic
. Yours Truly

I am going to bed with my blood sugar around 6.5... hopefully it will be below 6 in the morning.. continuing the recent trend !!! Fingers crossed

Thank you, we are having a great time of it. Someone has discovered that the TV has NetFlix on it and it is now in the control of the Peppa Pig collective.

Great outfit, like the idea of the dark blue jeans with the pale Kurta and vest.

@ianpspurs - I had no idea why the fbg readings are so well mannered - there have been significantly more carbs involved than usual but they do play a very minor roll in the overall plan and absolutely no bread, liquid or otherwise.

Yes, it does seem that mood is a factor in lots of things in life. Some things in life do stress folk out. For some , they have the good fortune to inherit a castle but spend the rest of their lives worrying about the mildew in the bathroom.

Nothing better for de-stressing than riding a motorcycle - and what fun filtering through traffic, especially if other road users are courteous (rather than jealous).

I gave a like rather than a hug because you seem relatively calm about what will be done to you and sure about what needs to be done by you. Best wishes and thinking of you.
Its really strange that I do feel calm - it may be because I feel feel more in control of what is happening because I prompted the doctor to do the tests that I am not experiencing the usual fear of the injection into the eye.

The hospital rang when I got home to book the other 2 injections and to tell me that the doctor is now only going to inject one eye because the other eye isn't bad enough to do and hasn't met the criteria for an injection, especially as each injection is £600 a time. I will talk to the doctor about this on Monday.

Last year one of my clients did a wing walk for a special chair (I think it cost £11K) which makes it more comfortable for the staff who do the injections and also its is much better for the patients. I did do my bit for the fund raising effort so, hopefully, will be one of the lucky ones to use the chair.

Hi Krystyna good that you asked and are getting the treatment you need. I am having my first of three antiVEGF injection early tomorrow. I was told they would rescan after 3 to see if I need more. How long have you been having the injections and how are you afterwards? Wishing you all the best for Monday.

I forgot to wish you all the best for tomorrow @PenguinMum so I'll take this opportunity.

Hi Gee
Thank you for you comment re. HDR. You are so right. It is tempting at times to 'beef it up'... too much saturation and a host of other tweaks leave the photograph looking anything but natural.

The eye is able to compensate for dark shadows and brightly lite aeras however most cameras have such a small range of 'what it can see unless you change the exposure (the time you let it look and absorb the light). then without a light metre you just guess what you think it can do in the seconds you give it.

So a shot overexposed and one normal with another at underexposed layered on top of each other (a bit like placing transparent slides on top of each other) and you get more of what the eye can see and three times what the camera can combined into one shot with the dark shadows lighter and the blown out windows as the bright sunshine does it shiny thing, all nicely exposed to see the kind of detail that the human eye can.

I expect you already know that G this just a way to explain to anyone else in simple terms what we are talking about lol

I may have gone a slight 'Hulk' hue seeing your numbers this morning Well done! Good job no one has a camera on me.

I keep meaning to mention your results in your signature. That is a very impressive set of numbers and a testament to what 'putting your mind to it' can do. Great achivement!

Great shot. Nicely composed... It looks like you have a wonderful aura. Om Shanti Om

I am certain that for me, meditation works wonders. I am convinced that I would not have had the results I have had in the last couple of months without it. I bath in a sea of tranquillity

Hi PenguinMum
I had my 3 injections in my left eye over 3 years ago. I haven't had to have any since. The right eye is the one they are now going to inject for the first time.

Actually - although I was really scared of the injections when I had them - they are not that bad because they do use drops to numb the eye prior to having the injections. I found that I felt OK afterwards. Vision was a bit funny for a few hours and I was rather stupid and went back to work because I didn't want to let clients down. This time I will be more sensible.

Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Actually - meditation is definitely something I need to look into. Do you have any tips for a complete beginner.

Hi Krystyna
Thanks for getting back to me with such helpful info. Best wishes.
