No absolutely not True Blue...no shows can be a problem in our NHS but we need to ascertain the reason...some are unavoidable & not necessarily the patients fault...when I first became ill I had intensive intravenous antibiotics for two weeks at our local hospital and so many clinic appointments my head was spinning...when I was home & had recovered a little I realised I had been sent a date for a clinic appointment...I had no idea & did not attend...later when I checked my patient record I was marked as not attending...I made my GP amend that...it would be better if we had patients confirm they would be attending...if not the appointment is offered to othersI wonder if it is time for cash registers at health centres.
I am loving the new photo Shas... Yes it really IS so important to wash your hands. It’s past 11:15 am here and it is a holiday... Ascension day. Was lazy to post. Anyway this morning i wake up and do my usual finger prick and let the blood drop onto the strip and lazily open my eyes and ... oh my god - 10.0!!!! Shocked. And i was wondering about the gravity of the situation... Then, just as Sir Newton discovered gravity thanks to an apple, it hit me that last night i had a quarter of a small apple... but really a tiny piece... and it hit me again that I hadn’t washed my hands! So... 2 minutes later wit new strip, new lancet and clean hands it was a relief to see 6.0. I would have much preferred a number in the 5s but after the shock of 10.0... 6.0 looked like a fantastic numberGood day everyone

We don't have that facility at our local hospital...with our GP practice yes but not the hospital.Would it help to enquire?
Hello @Bubbsie . You are right. I mean, what would we do about people who miss appointments because...well...they were ill? But that does put pressure on senior staff to chase laggards. No absolutely not True Blue...no shows can be a problem in our NHS but we need to ascertain the reason...some are unavoidable & not necessarily the patients fault...when I first became ill I had intensive intravenous antibiotics for two weeks at our local hospital and so many clinic appointments my head was spinning...when I was home & had recovered a little I realised I had been sent a date for a clinic appointment...I had no idea & did not attend...later when I checked my patient record I was marked as not attending...I made my GP amend that...it would be better if we had patients confirm they would be attending...if not the appointment is offered to others
Po - thank you so much for typing out this long post. You have set it out so clearly. I shall copy your notes and print them off. They will be absolutely invaluable. So your count goes 1 2 3 4 slight hold 4 3 2 1
Then simply repeat, breathing in for 4, hold, and out for 4. Maintaining the count in your mind.
That is it! You are meditating…
Wow, I have just fallen in love ...
I was Google-mapping Dorset while reading my favorite D*** Francis novel, 10-lb. Penalty and I discovered Blandford Forum. Wow. What a lovely place. Wish I could retire there. Haha they asterisked-out his name again!
Morning...absolutely shattered today...worked so hard in the house I wore myself out...I was absolutely starving last night so battered cod it was...hence the 6.7 this morning...more hard work today upstairs...oh the joys of housework & decluttering...does anyone actually enjoy it?

When I saw my meter print out last week at the hospital everything was in the green zone, apart from one reading in the red.
17.4 :***:OMG! That was the day I made a chilli and forgot to wash my hands before testing ...2 mins later it was 4.3. Phew!

I was pleased with my efforts DJC...and yes it was definitely a good work out...I'm not looking forward to more of the same today but it has to be done.but it’s more relief that it’s done. I wish I enjoyed it, its such a good workout.
From the hospitals I attend, I have a text reminding me of my appointment a few days before, and in that text it give me an option to press to reschedule the appointment, and I get a new appointment letter in the post.
And one hospital send me an additional text the day before to remind me of the appointment, and at that late stage I am still given the option to reschedule that appointment.
I do that with my dentist and optician as well.
Is there that option at your hospitals?
I did have to ask initially and push hard for that facility. I did have a patient’s advocate. It is some years ago I did this. But that facility is available for everyone/all patients now, both hearing and non-hearing peoples.
Would it help to enquire?

Hugs for you and grandaughters x5.7 for me this morning before I forget to post. Thought it’d be higher after an unrestful night. Both granddaughters staying over little one’s face with the puncture holes from the dog bite makes me sad to look at. The 8 yo has trouble sleeping as she gets terrible nightmares, consequently she’s now afraid to go to sleep. We were all cuddled in together but its squshed and not particularly restful. I’m constantly expecting her to wake up terrified.
Such a shame DJC.We were all cuddled in together but its squshed and not particularly restful.
Yes my appointment that I missed came by post.Unfortunately the letter arrived the day after the appointment.
Lived on the military base there for two years. The Badger Beer is awful.Wow, I have just fallen in love ...
