BS all day in the 4s and 5s but this morning was 6.3. So it could have been that. I wasn't quite as calm as I felt - or that my liver was being helpful and thought I needed a little blood sugar boost this morning.

visiting Pretty Corner Woods near Sheringham with the doggies today. Never been there before. Hope it is as nice as Google says it is.

Great news. Numbers good as well btw.
Google is wrong! It is much, much, much, better. We spend lots of time there every year. The colours will both amaze and delight.

Morning All. 5.7 this morning which is acceptable. Sunny here now though the forecast is for thundery showers this afternoon but I dont believe a bit of it. Well this morning an okish in my book 7.5 escaped from clutches of my meter and hid behind the kettle.

Well folks what are your plans today? Mine are on hold till Mrs J escapes from her pit / lair and gives clear precise instructions. I am under orders to wake her up at 8:30 this morning, but as I type this it's 9:27......there could be trouble ahead ( other their's are available ). Have a good day.

I removed all of the plants last year as the yield had dropped over the last couple of years. I have just replaced them I know I am late and don't expect a crop this year but they will be good to go next year (I am not that keen on them but my dad loves them)

Sounds about right for strawberries - 3 year lifespan is the maxim round here. Good luck with the new ones - thirsty crop though

Good morning folks, 5.5 on the dice today.
The OH still recovering from her faceplant with the tarmac but well enough to get to church, two black eyes and eight stitches in her forehead plus all the grazing from chin upwards, but more worrying to me was that she had no grazes on her palms. The ANP was very thorough in A&E and all bloods and BP were normal so who knows what happened, she has no recollection of falling at all, but it is a family thing with her mum always doing a "Jurgen", and she has skin like tissue paper too @JohnEGreen , so who knows, we've all just got to watch out for each other, friends and e-friends alike.

Good news about Mrs T being well enough to go to church as a counterbalance to the reason for the fall.

Oh that sounds really painful...poor Mrs T...it will probably get worse before it gets better and then theres the shock of a fall. I hope she is taking it very easy. Best wishes to you all.

I can understand your concern as to no grazes on hands as it indicates she did not have the opportunity to protect herself.
I hope Mrs T feels better soon and her trip to church gave her some solace from her painful experience.

My arm is still oozing blood two days on. Thin skin is no laughing matter.

Ouch, not good - no grazing on the palms may not be evidence of her failing to auto-react but it is a concert. Hope she mends pain free.

My consultant saw me a couple of weeks ago when he told me to stop insulin and I had an armful of bloods taken then.
I think I quite shocked him when he saw the numbers he downloaded from my meter.
He said that I was in 'normal' levels... I had, it seemed taken a quatum leap!

I have full access to my medical records; however, I do not think that results from hospital show up there.

A fabulous 5.2 greeted me today. Very happy especially as last nights quick tea was a Chinese take away. Changed from my egg foo yung to a chicken chili and garlic dish. Just fancied a change. Tested after 1 , 2 and 3 hours. After 2 it was almost back to base. Sometimes with experiments I find it goes back up at 3 hours but this one is a keeper. No spike. Had with cauli rice. Also a night on the tiles. I stuck to prosecco in first pub. 2 glasses. Then next pub a large red. So more than happy with today's reading. Came home to a full on.party. apparently electricity cut in town. Nightclub closed. All contents spilling out and around to our house! We have converted our garage to a more or less soundproof mancave. It's my hubby's but we find we need to book it if we need it!!! It's a magnet for clubbers! More people in our house than both pubs we were in COMBINED! Lovely bunch of 'kids' (all in their 20s and lots 25 +). Spent a little time chatting to them all, made them a cheese board, toast, and got the nibbles out. Loved seeing them all so happy.....or should that be merry!!!

Will catch up with thread properly later. I love to read every post. Hate missing out! I've got a friends 90th birthday lunch today so must shoot.

A trip of a lifetime - or could it be a lifetime of trips?
Our last day and then night and then very early, why are we doing this, was a cascade of wonder upon wonder.
The cogent one for this happy thread was the conspiratol way that, despite having fasted for 14 hours, liver, pancreas, G-protein-coupled receptors, glucagon-like peptide-1 hormone and several, at present unidentified co-conspirators wound up the wonder wheel of misdirection and folderol which confusingly (it’s only a machine after all) issued forth a comedic 6.8 when I emerged from my slumber (albeit in our own bed for the first time in a week) at 1035.

This final chapter began yesterday morning with frantic plans to squeeze out that last drops of shiney shiney from the great god Ra onto what from a casual observer looked like a row of human bratwurst eagerly basting themselves with goose fat on their individual grill pans. Not a sight for the faint hearted so Mrs Miggins and I took our merry band of grandchildren into town for last minute ice creams - (apart from Mr Pickle, who is nine years old so nearly an adult, and his 14 year old sister - and despite the pull of potential knickerbocker glory lookalikes, like to imbibe in all this burnt offerings to the gods palaver).

Airports are always an interesting place when you are Little Miss Pamplemousse and four years old.
In front of us, in a queue for some ghastly food products, stood a man with a Mohawk hair-do, covered in tattoos, a body like an overripe red anjou pear and sporting a faded t-shirt with an image of a proudly standing Native American on the front.
The Pamplemousse: Hi! I like your hair.
Mr Egg on legs: thank you.
THe Pamplemousse (pointing to the image on the t-shirt): is that you when you were a little boy, before you ate too much.
Mr Egg on legs, looking a tad flustered, glanced at The Pamplemousses’ Parents - dad is six foot four, bald, black beard, used to play number 8 for Birmingham, End or Outside Linebacker for the GB team and sporting some interesting tribal tattoos -mum is a tiny Thai woman but with a hairstyle suggesting interesting skills with Muo Tai but would, in reality produce a great Pad Thai - dad is grinning like a Cheshire Cat - mum is trying not to fall on the floor with laughter - mind you it’s not far to fall for her.

On board we have row 30 (a-f), row 31 (a-f) and row 32 (a and b).
Chaos is sat next to mum in 31b with The Pamplemousse as blocker in 31c. Mayhem is in 31e sat next to dad with me as blocker in 31d.
By the time we landed, Chaos is Now in 30b with gran, Mayem is in 31a, The Pamplemouse is spread over 31d and e and I am now blocker in 31c.

Plane landed without so much as minor crisis at Edinburgh at one minute past one (a divine time). Arrived home at 0600 this morning, went to bed and finally got up at 1035.

just making lunch to take to mum's , low carb sausage casserole with lashings of veg for me and a few roasted spuds for mr gee and his mum, cheesecake for them and a fresh ginger/rhubarb sponge with greek yoghurt for me (it's a bit of an experiment and it's entirely possible that I may have overdone the ginger a bit ).

Hopefully I'll get a walk with mum's little dog afterwards but it's been raining on and off all morning, we'll mostly on but we'll see

I am really sorry to hear about Mrs @trick60 's fall. I'm glad she was able to get up and around and to church this morning. My first thought about the lack of scrapes on her palms was that it was a good thing she didn't put out her hands to try and save herself, since that is said to be a good way to break a wrist or an arm. But as others have said here, it's also a concern, since doing so is such a reflex action. I hope she makes a good recovery.

I am going to savor my coffee and my reading of the Song of the Three Young Men, and put off tackling the next file box; I am still spring-cleaning my files and things and today it is the tax documents. To shred or just rip and compact -- that is the question.
