What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning all. Great artwork, very busy days and thumbs down for Boris bikes Mk2. As pointed out by the eagle eyed journos you get incentives (and sexual innuendo) to eat high carb and sugar to save the high street then censured for the effects on the waistline and NHS - all by the bloater in chief. Now on to fbg: mine was 4.2 @ 5.02, then 4.6 @ 6.20 now 5.2 7.36. All Libre so a fair pinch of Himalayan Pink or Kosher required. Abbott are sending replacement sensor and reader after "issues" so fair do's. I need to self isolate for 7 days now in preparation for some intrusive camera work. Yay for the weight @Krystyna23040 but hug for enduring all that coffee. Speaking of which, we have acquired another Nespresso- some kind of deal with bulk buying pods. Pity it isn't tea but such is life. Enjoy your day and try to avoid wide loads on bikes.

Morning...was due to collect Georgia from London this morning she spending a few days here...but now postponed until tomorrow...working at 9am so I have to be practical & rearrange a few things...bit shattered late night phone calls setting up this mornings work...had one coffee must have another before I can face the cameras there won't be much time for a tidy up before then or to look through the forum will catch up another time...woke to a 6.7 keep safe everyone.
 
Good morning and happy bin day to everyone from almost azure in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of chicken salad and home made pickles came in at 5.2 this am.

Eldest two grandchildren are now not going to Spain for their annual August skin bake with their other grandparents. Extremely happy about that. I do wonder why some parents think it far too dangerous to visit a theme park but are A OK with sitting on a two or three hour flight. Oh well.

@gennepher - red dragon - super dooper - so that’s the white dragon of the Wessex and the Red dragon of the Welsh.

@Alien Aspie - excellent execution of a magpie - how do you use both procreate and zen - is one imported into the other and if so in what format?
@geefull - eeh! You can do all sorts of things with just a pot of paint - you’ve gone all Chinese, blossom.
I had a go at a tree yesterday - using procreate - no idea how most of this app works so will have to explore it for a wee while. First though, koffy. Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.


 
A winner for the readings. Hope the camera crew and director are working to a script that gives a happy outcome. Should I buy shares in wide padded bicycle seats?

I exported the background from Zen. Just tap the three bars on the top right and select Photo Library. Open Procreate and create a new Layer.

Make sure the layer is active (blued and checkbox) then click on the 'spanner' and select 'insert a photo'. That's it.

Mine is set up for jpeg/jpg at A4 but can choose your own. The insert photo will insert png automatically (my seal is png to keep transparency).

I'm using royalty-free images for form until I can get out and about more and take my own photos.

Funny but serious. When I was working as a Cycke Coach (part time work on top of running my computer software business) the guide lines for Mountain Bikes was a rider should be less than 100kgs as most bikes have weight limits, there are similar guidelines for road bikes although I think they carry more weight as they are not on rough ground. A badly conceived project with good intentions but doomed to fail in my opinion.

Thank you. I think I will but am going to try something very different by layering watercolour, hopefully in a free abstract manner, we shall see.

Nice tree and a new learning curve which I'm sure you will master very quickly. Notice those pesky birds had stripped all the fruit from those top branches.

On the wide saddle issue, it's a fact wide saddles are less comfortable than those narrow hard thin ones but you will never convince new riders this fact so invest away.

Looking forward to seeing that and thank you for your comments - I do have quite a wide saddle on my Electra Townie - it’s a cruiser - gives the most comfortable position for my crumbling away lower spine.

 
This was a 4 hour job...
I had allowed myself 2 hours, but time crept away with me.

I was studying Hokusai, First Manga Master, a book J gave me about 13 years ago one Valentines Day (his home made valentine card is still inside )

I decided to use the first image in the book as source material and to learn from.
This was in the section, 'Landscapes, Mountains and Water, The image of Permanence'.

Here is my painting of it in ZenBrush2
Cat was pestiferous in the last hour, and I am hanging on to cat, my cuppa, the iPad, holding open the book, and trying to draw/paint...and then the initially fully charged iPad died on me, it never gave me a warning, or I was too engrossed I never saw it. Resurrected iPad, and opened it up and my painting is still sitting on the screen...phew...

I tried Procreate yesterday and this morning but failed to get what I wanted, much more practice needed in that app.

But as an initiative, i think its worthy of consideration.

as i understood it it was based on individual circumstances.
so where i live, it might have been a decent idea to offer the free use of Santander bikes.
so a walk to the park then a cycle around, maybe.

I even think a few months gym membership, with some kind of official greeter/liason officer
to lead people through the more awkward early days, with an introduction to machines and etiquette,
would pay great rewards in encouraging some/a few/many to see a visit to the gym as normal and not some elite experience.

add in the lower cost of meds, interventions later V gym costs etc, that would to me make great sense.

while we can pick and pull at the very idea, and it does have many faults..(It is Johnson..)
the over arching premise is sound.

what we CAN'T do is waste this moment and just go back to "Eat til you get sick, THEM Medicate until you die".

imho.

Same as ever. We just have access to so much more information - or invented stories - than ever before. Instead of relying on the bloke down the pub, village gossip or water cooler equivalent we have every loon with internet access - some with positions of immense power.
